starting to really like sol! get this deal done lenny, the perfect player to sort out our defence....just look at inter's defence in the champions league, full of hugely experienced defenders and they were rock solid, wouldnt mind trying that template for a few seasons and sol's a perfect candidate

This rumours getting closer to a done deal, he's asking for time off already. Can't wait till the first old firm to see big sol destroy lafferty!

 

Really hope he comes and is not just using us to get a longer contract at Arsenal or something.

 

It doesn't matter how many skillful, flair players in the team if you don't have a real leader captain you will struggle against any organised side.

I think sol will bring that to Celtic if he comes.

 

£35000 per week, I dont think we should be spending that sort of money on him.

 

Worried about how he will deal with going to the likes of Rugby Park, New Douglas Park and all that considering he took a hissy fit with the conditions at Notts County.

There's no doubt he's a top class player but at this age, for this money with his personality. Bit of a gamble but still probably twice the players of Mick/Loovens so we have to sign him if we can.

 

I said something similar in another thread [cant mind what one] that its fine selling Celtic and the fanbase,Lennoxtown etc to players but try selling the SPL and Lennon might just hit a brick wall.

 

Cant wait to see the sol man in the hoops, he is exactly what we need, somebody that will lead the team...he should be our captain after a month or 2.

i think by monday sol will be a celtic player he wound make coments like "i hope celtic get easy team so they can progress" i think it speeks for itself

 

anyone else a bit disturbed by him missing the champions league qualifiers because he is going to be on honeymoon?

It's for the future. Move's pretty much guaranteed if we accept his absence on honeymoon.

But I can say we would be much better with him in the side as his great experience from all competitions he played in would be good boost for our back line. I think even Rogne would feel more confident with such figure playing beside him.

He will probably command astronomical wage package, so I expect him to perform on high level and earn his weekly pay.
