if we do get him being a celtic transfer it will take about a month to sign him we have gone from 4 in a row certainties to a poor 2nd against a club in crisis now no european football beyond september a possibility

Some quotes from an arsenal forum the fans rate him very highly i didn't just pick out the good ones there all similar:

"All stuff coming from his mouth today is a bit worrying. We cannot afford to lose him to be honest, especially with Gallas seemingly on his way out."

"I will be seriously * if we do not extend Sol´s contract. What the * is the club doing? Its like there is a radio silence."

"The guy's a legend and deserves a contract with us. He's an asset to this club. He will help the younger generation climb that final hurdle and on to glory days.

The guys commands respect and is loved by all connected with the club. It'd be foolish of us not to give him a contract or at least let him stay as a coach, honourary member etc to share his wisdom with the youngsters and olders at the club."

" I'd happily give him a 4 year contract and even make him club captain."

"Give this guy a f****g 5 year, contract, I am sick and tired of having no figthers in our team bar RVP."

If we had him in the team last season I think we would of won the league for certain. Weir held their team together whereas we had mcmanus and Caldwell.. Lol

then Brown was made captain to make matters worse!

The two defenders that got brought in were injured and we missed out on ramis.

Make sol priority signing and bring the title home

That would be a massive coup for us. Hes by no way over the hill or past it. I didnt agree with BBJ in the scottish hun, a tap bit harsh in my opinion.

No joke, it be over the moon if we signed him, just hope he isnt trying to force arsenals hand here!

arsenal are in the process of trying to sign another central defender it was on bbc gossip yesterday this may be a good thing as that could mean they are prepared to let him go as they are only offering him a year contract i would take him in a heartbeat!!

I wouldn't say no to signing him, Davie weir still cuts about the SPL at 40 and makes diddies out of some of the opposition forwards, Campbell?!? different class to Weir and would cut it in the SPL simples. We've been longing to sign an experienced centre back for ages and we seem to be on the verge of one.

Forget his age I'm sure if he trains well and keeps himself fit he can play on for another few years easily.

new, better bobo balde. Get it done. Absolute no-brainer. Not only would he be solid at the back, he would also be an excellent example for the younger defenders. No transfer fee either. this would be very good business.

After hearing a romour that Campbell was to sign I checked arsenal forum and the general concensus is every fan wants him to stay!

Some think if he was going to sign for arsenal a deal would be done. We can offer him first team football and a two year contract and arsenal won't commit to that.

Make from that what you will, but we must be in with a good shout. I will be keeping my fingers crossed I rate the big man highly and he would be an ideal captain in our team.

I mean a lot of people, me included didnt know wether or not lennon would be able to attract top players like sol campbell....jimmy bullard etc etc. But certainly from the sol campbell situation looking really good and if he pulls this i think its a major, major coup! Especially on a free! I honestly think we could maybe even get another year out of him after the 2 year deal if we signed him. Hes a class above david weir and hes hit 40 *! Would be amazed if this happens though....and good signs from the campbell camp too.
