Wasn't meaning it as a go at you mate. It was general one in response to the numerous posts on numerous forums of people slating the board, Lennon and the club as a whole.

We're not going to please every single supporter but some need a reality check every once in a while.

So. you want us to go aout and spend stupid amounts of money, go into debt. All this whilst there is no money playing in scotland.

We would end up like Rangers, and be crippled with debt.

Would you rather Lawell, who is prudent with the cash, and Running our club excellently,

    OR

A david murray type figure, who will spend a tenner for every fiver we spend, and run the club into the ground, and have to be run by the bank??

I remember the 90's. We nearly didnt have a club----would rather the club stay run the way it is now, than for someone to * it up

I am one of the few people on here that think that Keane was a let down. 3 BIG GAMEs he had to turn it on. He scored 0 against Ross county or Rangers. For 65k a week, he should have destroyed Alex Keddie and Davie Weir

Caldwell, McManus, Naylor. The 3 guys were winners. McManus won 3 in a row.

Naylor and Caldwell 2 in a row.

Then Loovens came in and * up the defnce and we havent won anything for 2 years.

Loovens should have been out the door before the other 3

I think we will do well this season and even better next when the team has been together longer. If we signed lots of players on loan we would have had to start again next summer. So hopefully we don't need to replace many positions then and can spend the money on a quality player or 2 in the future.

He could be... who knows?.....I for one am glad that he didn't take the opportunity when it arose and I hope he is here for years to come. Maybe he is waiting for some magician to come in and take his place who will give the fans marquee signing every transfer window.....There are people out there who think different equals better....I'm not one of them. :celt_2:

Firstly i agree with some of your post. First of all you say we need stability and your next sentence is we bought 11 new players, that to me is not stability. I also believe it will be hard for the new players brought in to deal with the immense pressure of having to win week out and week in. The majority of them a young lads who might find the going though and crumble, this is one of my main concerns.

Secondly you said we need to give Lenny and the team time, im sorry but at Celtic you don't get time. It is imperative that we win the league this season and secure CL football because the season after that CL football will be hard to get. If we don't get CL we'll see the downsizing get gradually worse and worse simply because the money wont be there to improve and this board will not borrow.

Yeah i say we've brought in 11 new players which is FACT. Then i say we need stability, which is my OPINION. You can dissect the post as much as you want but the fact remains, we signed 11 players and adding a "Marquee" loan signing shouldn't satisfy the supporters just because he's a big name.

I was stating that we now need stability after making all of these signings and giving them time to bed in and settle.

The supporters called for a huge change and we got it. In my book, there's nothing to moan about.

The new players will find it tough, like all new players do. You can't expect a new player to come in and hit the ground running as well as playing consistently every single week. What i am saying though is that the longer these players stay and play together, without a huge tournover of playing staff over the next few windows i.e. stability, we will only improve and get better as a team and club.

Ok - so at Celtic you don't get time. So let's do what Real Madrid do and change manager and playing staff every single season in the hope we'll win. Only problem with that is we're not Madrid and hence can't attract Ronaldo, Kaka etc with millions of pounds.

So your solution to not winning the league this season is to what? Sack Lennon? Sell all our players and buy a new team?
Sounds quite similar to what we've already done.

A quick look across the city will show what stability can do to a club who aren't exactly in a great financial position.

Don't you think we're less likely to win anything or qualify for the champs league by making massive changes each season?

Well, I think we've got what everything we need to be a force in years to come. And with the question "what was worth the wait", how about:

    A) Our 2 new prolific strikers (as the stats show, especially Hooper who scored about 50 goals in 2 seasons).

    B) Our new Swedish international defender (who has come in and completely changed the centre half position and shaked up our central defence.

    C) Our new strong, skillfull, quick and young midfielders (Ledley, Juarez, Forrest etc).

Oh yeah, and our new left back who seems as if he is the answer to this "problem"

I never said we should sack Lennon, or sell all our players but i have a feeling history will repeat itself if Lennon doesn't deliver the title. Also the team across the city spent i think it was 25million post Kaunus. Yes they didn't buy a player for two years but they didn't need to. The proof is there going for 3 in a row, there getting 12 to 14 million each season. The 25 million they spent is gradually being paid off through the CL. Also im not saying we should have spent 25mill of borrowed money like Rangers but they gambled and are going for 3 in a row and playing in Europe, while we haven't and are playing chase. Even if we did borrow a few million with the co-efficent meaning a tricky route to the CL paying it off with be hard and risky. The board have obsessed so much about the keeping us debt free that's reflected in the kind of player we go for now ie cheap, preferably young with good sell on value.

Maybe the board have realised CL after next year will be a tough call and we just can't afford it so we're becoming a selling club to offset the CL losses we're likely to suffer in the future. I dunno know im just guessing, but i do know the future is blurry and unsure. If are co-efficent was better the team would have time but in my mind it just doesn't look that way.
