I wanted it retired after larsson left. dont think anyones good enough for it, maybe juarez but think he should have to earn it, cant just hand it to him after a couple of decent performances

Lenny should tell Forrest that if he performs consistently over the season , its his next season

It will never be filled if we keep building it up and up and up....we will get to a point where no one would be good enough.
I think we have made some good signings so far....no more signings needed untill we get this team playing for a bit and have a chance to see whats missing...11 players in....i think thats more than enough to be going on with.
Put the £££ in the bank till next summer and see how we are doing.

Keep it open for this season. Make it an open comepetition...

Whoever scores the most goals between Stokes and Hooper gets the #7 next season!!

It was half tongue in cheek and also part reality unfortunately.

i Don't think its the fact that the No.7 isn't being worn by a player but rather the No.7 shirt reveals the type of player we are missing in the squad, an attacking midfielder, a CAM which maloney is but he could get injured at any time.

I also concur with the statements that we only spent 600k on our defence... thats shambolic.

I'm loving your posts and how raging you come across, it'll be cool dude. I believe we have actually brought in some guys that can put in a shift and can pass and control a ball, when we get settled it'll be cool. So long as it doesn't take another half season and we get rid of another manager then replace him with someone who ships everyone out and replaces them all to make a profit. Keep the Faith :celt_2:

To be honest I do not like unbalanced sides where there are a lot of players of a certain level due to financial restrictions then one big name on loan costing a fortune. That is daft and in my experience seems always to have papered over the cracks and ended up in failure no matter how well the big loan has done. If you spread the money that would be blown on one big signing wider then the standard of all our signings can be upped a little. That is much more realistic.

Also-reality check. We already registered a much bigger debt recently and since then are out of the CL and Europa and it has cost us millions. A lot of the Aidan money has been swallowed up in those things, arguably all of it. When things start to go wrong and the league is lost, then the CL money etc things tend to snowball. End result is sadly a lower ability to spend. The bottom line is the rot can only be stopped by winning the league. That is all that matter in the next 10 months and during that period we want the team to gel enough that we can survive the Euro qualifier rounds next year and get that money. Then things could snowball in a good way.

The number 7 shouldn't just be assigned to anyone. Let it be retired until such time as a player proves his worth.

The only number that matters is the number of poiints we end up with at the end of the season..............:50:
