I honestly thought square sausage is the normal recipe for stovies. Cut up the square sausage and layer it in a big pot with tatties and onion. It maybe differs from place to place but where I am anyway most people definitely use square sausage for their stovies. The good quality square sausage though, none of your farmfoods frozen 24 in a pack sausage.

I have heard of stovies being made with other stuff. But I honestly thought that using square sausage was the default recipe.

What do you use like?..............wanna fight about it???

Stupid HR cow got up to give a speech. She started with "Ladies and Gentleman I'm sure you will join me in wishing Mr.Grimm all the best.............. at this point I stood up and said " we operate a gender neutral office there are no Ladies or Gentleman, Mr or Mrs. here an sat back down. Office in stitches at her trying to finish her prepared speech without gender reference. :giggle1: Feckin hated her.

Honestly, I’ve had it 3/4 times in Glasgow (just in various cafe’s) for breakfast and they’re nowhere near as nice as link sausages.

Incidentally, had links (3 of them) in a roll with haggis up in Dundee last Thursday. Brown sauce made an appearance, too.
