Anyone getting early access tonight?
Played the beta, kept crashing into rocks or losing my loot out at sea but it wasn't too bad. Hopefully they improve on some things. I need a new game so its downloading now, At least I get to be a pirate

 

I'm going to wait for reviews for it. Far too sceptical for new games lately from unfinished to utterly broken.

 

i'm actually enjoying this game. I'm working towards a new ship but the materials I need are all over the place, it takes a bit of strategy and planning

 

I love pirates, but can't see me getting this.

Need games with stories.

 

I stuck the beta on and was fed up within 20 minutes

 

Its got a decent story tbf. Basically ties in with being a pirate kingpin. Its really addictive in my opinion and i'm having great fun.
I think alot of so called 'aaa' games get hammered at launch. Its fair to say we have high expectations, this games got bugs (some * annoying ones too) but if they get sorted in my opinion its a very fun game. Not that i'd try too hard to convince someone to spend 70 to 100 quid though
Edit: I was looking forward to starfield for example this game is way better thought out

 

I've just bought a brigatine yea, does 18 knots with the wind behind me. Naval combat is something new to me,fighting on the waves in kind of awesome.

 

Theres is 2 major bugs I can confirm. Whether you are in co op or single player at least half the time you get an annoying prompt at the top of the screen saying you are death marked and an annoying sound over and over.
Also you will have to restart and load back in because there's a very common bug where you cant interact with no one.
No game breakers yet and other players are helpful so far

 

Not getting great reviews tbh.

I played it for a couple of hours. Only played as long as that to try out the on land combat... there isn't any. I am stunned they have released this, should have been aborted years ago. Their previous game Black Flag from 11years ago was more advanced.

Collecting materials like wood from trees playing a strange mini game whilst remaining on ship.

Looks nice at times, Ill give it that.

 

I think the combat is really satisfying and something new. I guess it depends really if you need that black flag experience but this is a completely different game and in many respects is way more advanced then black flag. The whole things quite impressive actually. I'm starting to think this game might end up like marmite

 

Reading about it and it sounds awful.

A pirate game where you don’t set foot on land and don’t actually raid and board other ships. How has it even been released?

 

I'm playing it mate and I can tell you that's not even important. They have put focus on the ships and the longevity of the game. Its been in the making for 11 years so when youtubers jump on bad review bandwagons i think its unfair in this case. How many big releases get bad reviews too? Destiny, cyberpunk, etc all unplayable mess according to reviews. I think expectations for a working game are fair enough but people expect the best games ever to come out and feel let down without ever having played it.

 

Compared to a game that is undenyably lacklustre like fifa24 or just misses the mark way off like starfield. Skull and bones has alot of thought put into it in my view

 

I like it but here is my view black flag that was by the same developer * all over it tbh feels a bit like Fortnite but for pirates …. If it was a different developer I’d understand but it’s the same developer and that’s what makes it so disappointing

I've seen videos of it and it looks like the suicide squad kinda game. Looter shooter-esque.

 

The end game is getting boring tbh. Have to do gold runs, can take hours to pick up from all outposts on the map. On the plus side i've made friends from all over.

 

I remember Ubisoft saying that was an AAAA game. Looks like that statement is biting them in the * once again.

 

the game is dead to me now, I can’t believe I spent nearly 100 pound on it. The Novelty has worn off. Shitgame
