If we lose the league, he'll need to take a lot of the blame IMO. If we win, his goals will be the main reason. I'm 50/50 on him. Definitely think he's overrated though.

Sitters vs Dundee United in the 1-1 game. Sitter vs the Huns in the 0-0 game. Sitters today. That's 9 points from McDonald's misses alone.

I know some smartarse will post his goals and say, that's 30 points or whatever. But the fact remains, he misses quite a lot of good chances.

If he could sort that out, he'd be great. As it is, he's good.

All I know is Zurawski fits into a team situation at Larissa. i am not sure Skippy would. Could be totally wrong. Skippy could be a * in Greece, but looking at the strikers he would have to compete with, I think it would be hard for him. Skippy is an individual and although his effort can be inspiring, I simply think he lacks in talent. I am ready to be told i have no idea what I am talking about and I would accept it. I simply believe celtic could do better than Skippy, Samaras and the JVOH.

By that you're suggesting it glosses over the fact he's poor, which isn't the case. He is disliked for his attitude, it's the fact he scores crucial goals and the amount of work that he puts in that he is liked.

At the end of the day if you removed Skippy from the side this season you can forget about taking the league down to the last day of the season because we wouldn't have even been at the races.

I agree with that point of view without any hesitation. None of them are great strikers at all. Not a patch on Cadete, Di Canio, van hooijdonk, Larsson, Sutton, Hatrson, Bellamy etc. I know people will say they were dearer or whatever but I am saddened at the lack of quality in a department where we have always had some outstanding talents :54:

I like Skippy and I think it's unfair to criticise him as he's been the only striker we can rely on. Half the time he isn't getting the service to put the balls in the net. We would do better to have a hard look at the numpties around him i.e. Sammy, Jan, Naylor and even McGeady

In a couple of recent matches it's been like the Skippy/McGeady show and no one else seems to exist around them.......that really * me off as more often than not McGeady gets the ball at his feet and screws up on the pass. Will someone please tell him to look up before he passes a ball as he's always looking at his fancy footwork :97: Naylor never gets a pass right and neither does he forge ahead to lend some support when you would expect him to.

Skippy works hard but we can't expect him to get it right all the time when those around him have even bigger failings.

I think the fact that so many hoops fans are saying hes an excellent player just shows how far our standards has fallen. The guy gets goals but how many does he miss? How many moves get broke up when he can't control the ball? He moans like * all the time as if he was a superstar!

He wasn't bad last seasons but this season hes been found out, there is no way he is celtic quality. When you look back at some of the guys we had in the recent past he couldn't come close to that standard, e.g., Larsson, Cadete, Viduka, Moravcik, Hartson, Sutton, Van Hooijdonk, Di Canio and Bellamy.

Please, Please -enough!! Skippy,Samaras,et al, are NOT even close to the Celtic standard - remember Henrik??? This team are total * - no excuses. Strachan is responsible for the signings, no one else - why all these midfielders ???? He is a total * and the sooner he goes back to Southampton the better.

    In other words - F.O. G.

    Yawn

Henrik was a one off, he also had good players around him who were purchased on the back of nice fat paychecks from sky. Forget signings like Sutton, Hartson, Lennon, because it aint going to happen anytime soon.

Is Larsson the measuring stick for any Celtic player now? :56:

I suspect whoever is using that method will be an unhappy chappy for a number of years.

lol cadete, di canio, hooijdonk, moravcik, Agathe, mcnamara, thompson, lambert, petrov, mjallby, etc. They were not huge buys, not any dearer than some of the players that are in the current squad but would walk into our team no problem, without any hesitation. Why should we accept mediocrity? the players I mentioned werent mediocrity? lol madness

 of course I read your post, and i understood it fine, maybe you should re read mine.

You gave a list of players, from different Celtic teams I might add, who would walk into our team right now, and i gave you some of this team who would get a game for the teams they played for.
