    Platini and Infantino were at the court today. Meanwhile the six players have been banned by the Swiss FA for five games.

    Silvan on what grounds did the Swiss FA ban the 6 and is Constadine also taking the Swiss FA to court on that issue?

    Because going to civil courts is against the FA's statutes. Yes, he said that he would probably take the FA to court as well for their latest decision.

    If the Swiss FA have banned the ineligable players, is that not the FA sort of favouring UEFA's ruling? And basically admitting that Sion are wrong?

    THis whole fiasco should never had taken place anyway. It amazes me that it's gone on this long

    Yes, the Swiss FA's rules are based on FIFA's statutes. Sion claim that this paragraph is sort of illegal. The Swiss FA has been backing FIFA most of the time in his case.

    As for UEFA, the story is a litte different. The players were - provisionnally - allowed to play in the league by FIFA and the Swiss FA. By excluding Sion, UEFA went against its own rules, as it cannot decide on whether a player is eligible or not. Only FIFA and the FA can. That's what the civil court says at least.

    I know your the voice or reason from Switzerland, but you have read through exactly everything thats happened since day one? If so are you not totally confused.

    There is loopholes in every contract or rule to be exploited and I guess no one is better than pointing them out than the swiss courts. But these players SHOULD NOT HAVE PLAYED. Thats kinda where this should end.

    Sion broke the rules of the tournament. At the time they were warned and still fielded them. They broke the law and running through local courts and trying to expose said loopholes just show's pure guilt.

    If this happened to a Bulgarian team and they went to their local courts they would be completely wasting their time, Sion are infact abusing the fact they are based in Switzerland.

    The only people that can overturn this is the court of arbitration for sport and Sion have said they have no intention of going through them. So now its just becoming a mind game from that crazy * in charge of Sion.

    The * name Sion should not be mentioned on this forum again.

    So basically it wasn't UEFA's right to ban Sion, only FIFA?
    Which leads to the question, why didn't FIFA ban SIon knowing that they were fileding ineligable players?
    Again, what a mess.

    @greengrocer

    I think this resumes the whole issue perfectly.

    @UncleHo

    Yes, I've been following the whole thing since the beginning. And yes, everything is very confusing. Many supporters, including me, are tired of hearing about it. We should have accepted FIFA's interpretation of the ruling, regardless if Sion are right or not. The risk was just tOo high, and Constantin should have known. Unfortunately, we have reached the point of no return. Compromises are no more possible. Either the federations are getting in very big trouble or this is somewhat the end of FC Sion.

    Just some additional remarks:
    - Sion haven't sued UEFA at a "Sion court", but at UEFA's court. Every team in the world, if Swiss, Scottish or Bulgarian can do that. UEFA are based in the Canton of Vaud, so you can sue them there.
    - Sion don't want the CAS, because they say it's biased towards FIFA and UEFA. I just think they'll have no choice. The civil courts might say soon that they are not competent to judge the main case and that the CAS must do that. We'll see.

    * me, are we never going to hear the end of it from these cheating *? Someone make me the president of FIFA! My first duties would be:

    1. First job, fine Rangers 20 quid for being * and because I am FIFA president and I can. That should put them into administration :celt_2:

    2. Pass a new ruling stating that "no court including CAS has any say in footballing matters, if you don't like it, * off somewhere else". (in those exact words)

    3. Fine the Swiss FA 10 billion Euros because they let the cheats cheat. (and because I don't like FC Basle or Neuchatel Xamax either so * them)

    4. Revoke Sion's FIFA membership because they're cheating *, effectively getting rid of this horrible little * stain of a club.

    5. Kick Christian Constantin square in his peas and show the ugly little * how a boot in the balls is properly administered.

    6. Award Celtic FC the 10 billion Euros that I took from the Swiss FA as compensation for the 1984 Rapid Vienna fiasco.

    Not bad for first day on the job :56:
