Hardly. The actions of another team should not govern our own behaviour. Don't get me wrong, I would be delighted if we took Sion's place but the actions of Rapid Vienna are completely irrelevant to us.

The thing is though we wouldn't have been 4th seeds. How would this work out?

I'm hoping that UEFA have the guts to throw Sion out but I keep thinking that if the Sion management thought that there was any possibility that that would actually happen, they wouldn't risk it in the first place. I think they will argue the interpretation of the transfer ban and they'll get away with it. Whether we deserve to be there or not, Sion's breach of the rules was confirmed by FIFA, the Court of Arbitration for Sport and the Swiss Supreme Court. They should not be allowed to progress to the group stages.

We played them in the mid 80's and a fan threw a wine bottle on the pitch. A Rapid Vienne player seen it ran over picked it up and claimed he was hit on the head by it to the Ref, the game went on finished, we knocked them out. Then Rapid complained to UEFA about the player being "hit" with a w bottle, UEFA looked at TV evidence, even though it showed it went nowhere near anybody, I think they let us away with it. Rapid appealed, UEFA ordered a replay at Old Trafford and we got knocked out.

Hence the banner Rapid: 'Cheats, Liars and Conmen' the last time we played them.

I fully agree that Sion should be kicked out if they breached the rules.

But another fact is that we were crap and do not deserve to progress. This is based upon the rules of good sportmanship. Rules I deem much higher than some transfer regulations.

Ive actually seen highlights of the game loads of times and seen that incident but didnt know that they complained about that. So there was a replay because a bottle was thrown on pitch ?
This will make me feel less guilty if we take Sions place.

The 'ineligible' where average players at best.

Concalves former Hearts man not even good enough for us. Feindouno rejected by us and the huns, average player.

It's not as if they fielded a couple of great players.

Yes Sion played ineligible players but we still should of horsed them. They wanted it more than us, played well in both legs and deserve to go through imo.

The players don't deserve their pay checks never mind another crack at European football. Bottlers.

We will get our * holes ripped if we get put through. Oh how the once mighty Glasgow Celtic have fallen. Sad, sad times...

From a financial standpoint it would be good if Sion got thrown out and we got back in to the Europa League. It would enable us to make a few million quid, which is money we badly need.

But from a football standpoint I'd rather they just let Sion go through. I'm not sure I could cope with watching us embarrass ourselves away from home another 3 times. I'd rather just focus on trying to win the SPL and have another crack at Europe next season.

Thats not a fact it is an opinion. :bbpd:

So you are saying they should progress because they (with there illegal players) where better than us with 10 men?
