And what's so bad about getting into debt anyway? As long as we can manage the debt we take on, we will be fine. The vast majority of European clubs consistently achieving and performing at the highest level are in some form of "debt". In modern day football debt precedes success.

    I'm not a Strachan Supporter. I'm a Celtic Supporter!

It's not Strachan that's been let down. It's the support. Strachan has continuously throughout the season, made the most basic of tactical errors. His team selections defy logic. Week after failing week, we have to listen to his outrageous, arrogant claims that, despite all the evidence to the contrary, " the team can't be faulted". "We are playing wonderfull football!" We see time & time again the most predictable & ineffective of substitutions. Today, in the most important game of the season, he can't motivate his team of woefull underachievers out of their suffocating apathy. His time at Celtic Park must be at an end. This season has been like watching the slow painfull death of a much loved friend!

we reduced it way too much.

we gotta admit that this should be 2 in a row for rangers. i honestly felt we won the league by default last season. just as they did in 03.

In our case "Debt Free" really means investment free. Football clubs, by their very nature require ongoing investment. Otherwise you have stagnation & deteriation. Fiscal starvation is not a responsible financial policy. By failing to invest they have threw away our chances in the ECL & the rewards thereof. For want of a nail, the horse was lost!

ive backed Strachan from day 1. and if he remains the celtic manager for a year or 2 more then i will continue to support him.

im not going to list why i like him and why i support him as its been done several times and when you do mention the pros, the haters shoot you down with why he should go. pretty pointless really.

Yes, his time is up! Thanks for the 3 in a row, last 16 twice. The wee man got to leave the Parkhead hotseat! :50:

I think its time for Gordon to move as there is nothing he has to prove to anyone. 3 in a row is great, 4 in a row would have been better and the chance to kill off Rangers for a few more years is now gone. So the Club needs a fresh face with new ideas and Gordon will find a Club in the EPL quickly. In fact Sunderland seems to be favourite for Gordon's services if he chooses to leave. so now is perfect for all parties.

Neither do I - he has made us struggle against every team in the league.

If I had voted yesterday when I got in from the game it would have been 100% yes, time to go, after thinking about I'm not too sure what good it would do.

    Reasons to go:
    - standard of football is regressing
    - too loyal to certain players that have not been performing
    - unable or unwilling to make tactical changes during a game (every substitution seems to be a like for like)
    - unable to motivate the players (although this one is questionable as players earning that amount of money should be able to motivate themselves)

    Reasons to stay:
    - realistically who else would be able to get in?
    - new manager would still have to work within Celtic's financial model so a new manager without serious financial backing from the board won't be able to make much difference
    - his record of 3 out of 4 is a success by anyone's standards (whether you like the football or not the record books will show this a successful period for our Club)

So weighing up the pros and cons I'd have to say I'm sitting on the fence with this one - I think it's time for him to go but only depending on who we are likely to get in to replace him. I'd rather have Strachan than the likes of McGhee etc. Also if the board are going to give him financial backing to sign at least a couple of experienced players then I'd say his record of 3 out of 4 means he's earned the right to another season.

So yes, but only if we can get a better manager in.

not true. none of them wanted Keegan out and Kinnear's heart knackered. thats besides the point any way.

i'm grateful for what WGS has done as i was pro WGS. cutting the wages down while delivering 3 titles and last 16 twice. however, i feel he has carried us as far as he can and we need change to challenge Walter Smith.

Walter Smith is by far the better manager. look what he did to Scotland after inheriting the worst Scottish team in leaving memory, look what he did to Le Guen's Rangers. taking them to the Uefa cup final and winning the league within 2 years of arriving and with a poorer team than us.

we need some one who is up to the challenge of Smith and imo that person isn't WGS.

No way should Strachan go. He's a quality manager who really knows his tactics and can really get our bhoys up for the big games. 3 titles and 2 last 16's in the Champions League make him totally bulletproof and beyond criticism. And he is quite right to talk down to the fans because none of us have played professional football so we clearly don't have a clue what we're talking about. Just because we've watched Celtic for years and years that doesn't mean * all, we are still a bunch of muppets who drink Kestrel Lager and play with our devil dogs. Bow down to Gordon Strachan, he is clearly a messiah and we should all realise that we know * all and he knows everything. :87:

    He Has to go,

We now need a change of mentality in the squad, someone with fresh ideas and ambitions to continue the clubs long running Success since the turn of the century.

There should be a boycott if he stays IMO. I actually want him out more than I did Barnes.

He has to go. No two ways about it. From a position of financial dominance and despite having a better squad of players than the huns he`s turned the team into a run of the mill SPL side.

I`m amazed he`s still there at this point.

He's embarassingly bad, at times I think he has a learning disability - I'm not ridiculing people with a disability here, I'm being serious.

He sticks to 4-4-2, when we only have 1 striker.

He has an inability to change a game.

He lies to the fans & thinks it's funny.

He has no real empathy in what happens to the club from the fan's perspective, he is completely detached from reality.

He looks tired & disinterested, he seems to have given up a long time ago & he sticks to playing his favoured personnel, which he will continue to do.

He has a blindspot concerning his favorites & will reward average players with new contracts & the club captaincy.

I could go on forever - get him out ASAP!

We have become to rigid, static and stale this season. Well, to be quite honest, we have been for the last two seasons. The rest of the SPL have us sussed out now as WGS plays the same 4-4-2 system week after week.

Within that system we have players who seem like they are asked to play rigid positional roles. Our centre backs never seem to get beyond the midfiled and our midfield very rarely get beyond the strikers. You can see the lack of movement in the current team quite evidently. Our only overlapping plays come down the wings. Shut us down there and you can shut us out the game completely. This has happened more than not in games this season. Within ten minutes you can see we've run out of ideas and then the long balls start being lumped upfield to our tall front man, hoping for a decent knockdown into space.

When it comes to WGS trying to do anything to change the course of a game all he has up his sleeve is changing like for like players.

Yesterday we needed the win. In my opinion we should have finished the game with all our strikers on the park. Sami, JVH, Skippy and Maloney. Instead he brings on JVH for Sami and then Maloney for Skippy.

WGS has to be congratulated for what he has done but we really really need something fresh. I think it's fair comment to say that we may not get anyone better than WGS but a different approach is needed.

He should stay. He will defo not be sacked, but I think he might leave if he receives an interesting offer from England.

If a club like Sunderland comes calling, with guarantees of a big transfer kitty he'll be down the road.

the board won't sack him. if WGS doesn't quit, we ain't gonna see a new manager.
