Who is making these signings? Like the Inamura one it’s baffling. BR has persistently asked for “quality over quantity..” We don’t need players who have little to no chance of being first team players. Look at the deadwood in the squad and all we are doing is getting rid of it then replacing it.

The weird thing with Yamada is see if this had been a bit of a last resort signing in January just off the back of a good season, you wouldn’t have been happy with him being the Kyogo replacement but you could somewhat understand it happening when we couldn’t get who we were after.

However, now he is having a poor season it just doesn’t make any sense at all.

Kawasaki F・FW Shin Yamada to transfer to Celtic! The British newspaper will report the possibility of a decision this week.

It was learned by the 8th that Kawasaki F's FW Shin Yamada (25) was likely to transfer to Scotland's prestigious Celtic. The British newspaper Scottish Sun reported on the 7th that it was approaching the transfer with a transfer fee of 1.5 million pounds (about 300 million yen). It is said that it is possible to decide within this week. Yamada was first summoned to the Japanese national team in the E-1 Championship being held in Korea, and is scheduled to participate until the final match against Korea on the 15th. After the tournament is over, I will adjust the schedule and enter the site, and sign a formal contract after a medical check

On the 8th, he made his national debut from the beginning of the second half of the first match against Hong Kong. Although he was not involved in scoring, he played a meat bullet battle using hard work and strong physical, and looked back, "It was good that I took out one of my weapons.

I highly doubt it's Tisdale. Could be wrong but would be surprised if he has gained much knowledge of the Asian markets from his time in English lower leagues.

All signs point to Lawwell being back to his old tricks again.

It's early days but this window has shades of 2018 and 2022 all over it.

I have never known a football club who put so much effort into tripping itself up and holding itself back as we do.

A Japanese CB who lacks physicality and positional sense and a Japanese striker who can't score goals, the only quality that stands out about either is that they are cheap. Which is right up our street

From the descriptions of him he sounds like Oh without the catchy goal tune

Going by his record he wouldn't need it anyway

No it’s not the best we can do… calm down we’ve got 2 months of the window left. We’ve been linked with a billion names, we’re not gonna sign them all.

and if we do sign them all they aren’t all necessarily gonna play…. Look at lawal, didn’t play for us and we made money off him.

chelsea have about 3 million players. Sometimes signings are to be made to make money. We might have intentions of loaning this guy out to see if we can earn some £. Who knows….

but ultimately of course he isn’t gonna be first choice so couldn’t care less

At least it can be said we're a signing a Japanese international now.

Although not sure how he was lumped in given his form.

A player we need to get in early on…who’s now also a Japan international thanks to that game Ryunosuke Sato. Watched him at the u17 World Cup and he was unbelievable. Him and another lad Southampton have now signed.
Only 18 so would be cheap surely

It was revealed on the 8th that Scottish first division club Celtic is close to acquiring Japanese national team forward Arata Yamada (25) of Kawasaki. Going to be interesting to see how it works this season.

I do think this is a punt worth taking tbh, been off the boil this season but his attributes seem suited to us.

Definitely think we'll seen two up top this year.

I was up for this and he seems decent with some good things about him, but the more I read and think about it.....the more I feel we should be getting better..

We need some serious signings now on the wings, big time..

Just seems like a bizarre signing for me. We already have 3 strikers, if we keep Maeda as a striker. Which I think most of us would prefer. So, Maeda, Idah and Osmand. Yes, Maeda can play on the left but we shouldn’t be using him as that. We should strengthen the wings and keep Maeda as a striker given his form.

I just feel like adding Yamada to the strike force means we see Maeda move back to the left and it means we have brought young Osmand in and it’s very very unlikely that he ever plays.

It probably means Osmand going on loan..

    A strike force of
    Idah
    Yamada
    Osmand

And Maeda back on the left wing would be * poor for a club our size and the money we have. I'd go as far as saying it would be an absolute disgrace if that's our 3 up top this season..

We’ll likely see a lot more rotation this coming season up the top end if this happens with Idah being our main striker. Quite a risk to take, it may pay off since money doesn’t always guarantee impact as we’ve seen.
