I feel given would cost too much in wages.as I have said in other posts I would rather we spent more of our budget on other areas and brought in another decent keeper.no need for a top drawer keeper for the spl,which should be our main focus this season

 

Listen i dont get the furore over the fee for given at 3-4Mill for a 35 year old goalie who is fresh cos hes hardly played for 2 years he has at least 5 years in him and in his prime at that!! look at VDS! if this was a striker of 28 years old in his prime we'd be giving it "get him signed its only 3-4Mill" as for the wages aspect the guys top drawer of course hes gonna command a top wage thats life. he is at least a known quantity i shudder to think what could have been if wwe do the usual by baulking at the price tag and settle for our 4th choice!!

am i missing something here did Celtic make Given an offer? Did they make spurs an offer to buy Keane? did they make Man city an offer to buy Bellamey?

i'm not sure how these professional footballers can get so much stick from juvenile posters when their clubs did not even receive an offer to buy the player from Celtic.

please try and be a little bit subjective with your posts, you'd swear Celtic transfer policy was as simple as Celtic identifying players who are fans of the club and hoping they'll sign for us for a fraction of what they'd earn elsewhere.

 

He is a plastic fan because he didnt go to us despite us not making a bid for him? Maybe he should have sat on the bench again all of this season in case we might have decided to bid again next year?

I'm glad he is about to sign for Villa. I would much rather Celtic speculate on a young forward with the kind of money it would've cost to get Given, same goes for the links with Keane and Bellamy.

 

Celtic never bid for him what do you expect? he clearly said Celtic where his first choice but no bid was made what do you expect shay to do? not move to Villa because stupid Celtic fans like youself will be dissapointed and call him a money grabbing *?
