    Obviously.

IMO Hart had a better season at Birmingham, than Given at City.

Hart probably had more to do at Birmingham, shittier team, weaker defence etc, doesn't mean he's better than Given

I doubt if Shay would be asking for that, it's obvious that Celtic don't have that kind of cash.

He did have more to do. And he DID it. Probably one of the best keepers in the EPL during 09/10.

they can afford better wages than us.he'll never win anything at villa.he claims he's not after cash now.if he joined Celtic he'd have a chance off winning something

He's made a few mistakes since though and not been dropped. Definitely politics, Shay's better off out of there, just hope he has a decent defence to work with at Villa. If Hart gets anywhere near the amount of caps for England that Shay has for Ireland then i'll take my hat off to him, no question.:icon_mrgreen:

Are you actually being serious with this politics bullshit? Hart and Given both had good seasons, Hart obviously showed Mancini something that's made him City's number 1. Nothing to do with this politics crap.

Of course mate but Villa have seen the opportunity and swooped, we * it (we as in the board) .. he more or less said "celtic sign me now!" but we jus didnt want to spend all the kitty on him! which is fair enuff we needed a wee bit more quality which again ye cant argue with but what ye need 2 think abt is if u want that title in paradise that signin should have been an exception!... but whp are we to judge??

Can't think of any other reason for dropping Given. Same thing happened with the England squad when the FA wanted a certain proportion of the big clubs represented at the World Cup and Theo Waldcott got the nod for the squad. In my opinion, it's a reverse sort of situation with England and Man City.
I could be wrong but why else would you drop ( the recently signed) Shay who was a tried and tested keeper, playing well in favour of a promising younger keeper.

If Given had made a few howlers then fair enough but that wasn't the case. Anyway, probably time for bed...

Because that "promising younger keeper" played better than him!

I agree to a certain extent. For such a good gk it would be a shame if he didn't win anything in his career. But it's his choice and I hope he does well.
