I think at a club like Celtic you are tested every game. It is different from playing for a more provincial club and Zaluska is evidence of that. He was a very good keeper at Dundee Utd, probably because he was very involved in the majority of games he played in so had to focus for 90mins. At Celtic a keeper may only be called into action a handful of times in a match, with Zaluska he struggles with this, as I believe he switches off. He isnt the first keeper to be like that.

Forster though has came in and has shown that he can concentrate for the whole game despite not having much to do and step up to the mark when needed. Boruc was the same. And for that reason alone I think he is worth trying to get in permanent. We could go for a keeper from another club who looks great and then comes to CP and for the reasons that Zaluska struggles may not be up to the job.

Given would be a great keeper as well, but I think he is going to be a too expensive option.

Don't know but think it must have been a couple of million. They will also be able to give him better wages and better football

Not sure they will be able to offer better wages. West Ham are up the creek financially. They will be looking to sing players and offer them much lower terms than when in the EPL.

Ha ha, i wish! No but i played against Shay and trained with him at schoolboy level a few times, outstanding young keeper as i recall, our school would have beaten theirs if it wasn't for him- his school got to the national final and a lot of that was down to him.

On SSN that Shay is not part of the Man City squad headed to the US for their pre season tour...

Doesn't mean he's coming to CP but does mean he's deemed surplus to requirements at Eastlands/Etihad/Whatfeckinever

Also, unlike Bellamy, he did say money's not an issue...

    Still a chance?

still cant understand, when we really need an experienced keeper, why celtic havent when straight in and sorted this deal out.

he says moneys no issue, so give him £20k-£25k (at most, if its not an issue), get him on a 3year deal with a possible 1 year rolling extension or sumthin. most keepers seem to get better with age n he's prob at a right good age n would save a bundle from that manky mob!

and to add on top of that, since he's one of us, maybe even a coachin job after his playing days???

Cos City want 4 million for him, which is more than we can afford.

so what, we've to be tight fisted over a crackin keeper, who, for £3-4mil, we would have bitten man city's hand off for before joe hart got his shot!

he'd be, arguably, IMO, one of the best keepers we've ever had, atleast in the top 5

every player we're gettin linked with is coming to the same excuse now, he's to expensive, he wants to much wages etc etc, even at £4mil, its not even as if its a gamble, he's a guarenteed keeper whos basically said "come and get me" and aint just interested in money

4 million is twice Celtic's annual TV revenue.

That's like a premiership club paying £100 million for a keeper. We can't afford it.
