    If we can get him for a decent fee and he takes a normal wage then yes if we had to push the boat out on him then no.

    His age does not bother me could easily play till 40 odd but it's these injuries he seems to have picked up more over the last two seasons .

    As much as i'd love Shay Given i reckon we should really be looking at Keiren Westwood, free on a bosman and sooner or later will take over from the man himself as Ireland number 1 class keeper.

    my mind is made up shay given is the best keeper in the world i no you might say im being byest but the only reason people say he isnt is because he is irish if he was spannish or english everyone would say he is the best keeper ever and hes been sitting on the bench all year to the special 'englands no1' and as he made an embarrestment of himself yesterday shay given but on yet another world class performance.................lenny sign him up

    Another perma-rumour along with Keane and Bellamy. Its all too 'back to the future' for my liking. I hope Lenny completes the team with a goalie, a striker and CH who are not from the usual suspects list

    come now:56: At the moment, Forster's a decent keeper. He has the potential to be very good but he's clearly not in the same leaguie as Shay.

    Forster is nowhere near being better than Given and Given is nowhere near being the best goalkeeper in the world. The Holy Goalie is better than Shay Given!

    So the fact we're linked with him almost every year means we shouldn't try and sign him despite him being world class? Brilliant logic. Given and the other two names you brought up would improve our squad so much. I fail to see how any reasonable Celtic fan wouldn't want just one of them.
