According to this site, he is valued 5,5 mil. euros. I think that Westwood would be better solution.

No brainer, if he's prepared to come, if we can afford him, and if he passes a medical we sign him. On he's day every bit as good as Cech & van der Saar, as long as his injury has cleared up.

Superb goalkeeper, but injuries are taking their toll in him these days.

We have gone though this season with a temporary Goalkeeper.

I don't particularly want to start another season with a temporary goalkeeper.

Get Westwood, and let's start building a settled backline for the next few years:50:

Shay Given has another 5 years left in him if he wants, he was never injured before he got injured last season for city, and then got injured in training this time round somehow, i reckon hel be fine once full fit and playing again, never underestimate the value of experiance, he is still a top keeper

Only if he can prove he can stay fit we can not take a gamble on the type of fee and wages needed to bring him here for him to be on the side lines .

I would take a gamble on him, on the bases it would be a season long loan, and at the end of that loan would have the option to but him for £800k - £2 Million cash upfront of course. Would need to half his wages and move forward from there although I do not know wages he is on.

Would probably need to be a loan deal, he's just too expensive.

If Samaras goes for 3/4 million then we could bid that for Given. Get rid of alot of the fringe players -

    Murphy
    Ljunberg
    Juarez etc

Then we could easily pay him a decent wage.

I take him defo. Just by sayin he would come here would mean he is willing to take a pay cut.

Whilst good in principle i wouldnt get in to the ball game of getting rid of 3 or 4 players to just get one player in ..You get an injury crisis then your short of bodies !!! .. very dangerous thing to do IMO

i think we'd be fine tbh, although i agree selling 3/4 players in order to bring one in isn't ideal

but we need to offload a few anyway imo.

SHAY GIVEN has issued a come-and-get-me plea to Celtic after growing incerasingly frustrated at Manchester City.

The Republic of Ireland stopper has cut a forlorn figure over the past 12 months after falling behind Joe Hart in the pecking order at Eastlands.
And asked whether he would consider a switch to the club he supported as a boy, Given said: "Celtic is a fantastic club but it's too soon to say what's going to happen or if that's going to happen.
"But you never say never when Celtic come calling.
"It's no secret I'm a big Celtic supporter and have been all my life. I don't know what their goalkeeping situation is.
"Ideally, I would like to be playing but it's out of my hands. If Manchester City want me, I've got another two years left on my contract. I don't really know what's going to happen."
Asked whether a switch to Scotland would feel like dropping down a level, the 35-year-old added: "Not if you're playing with Celtic, it's not.
"It's a great club with an unbelievable history, so I wouldn't look at it as a step down."
