Shaun Maloney rejoins Celtic

I'm looking forward to seeing him again and just hoping he can give the quality of performances that he used to for us, it's definitely going to be difficult for him anyway. He's got a lot of work to do in both proving himself as a player and to the fans. Really hope he does well.

thing is, the Villa fans loved wee Shaun and were baffled why MON rarely used him. He always seemed to play well when he got a chance. Personally I think MON likes his players big/strong and suited to putting in a big defensive shift and he was never one for flair players. Even MON's most successful Celtic teams had a lot of power and speed but no real flair other than Lubo coming off the bench or the very rare games he gave Shaun and Aidan.

 

The news was saying he would be ready for Falkirk?

 

got to agree with Keltoi. this squad, it does have its weaknesses, is the best squad we've had since Larsson's last season. we only have 3 duds (Killen, Bobo and Donati) on the wage bill and if WGS didn't have favourites it would be impossible to guess who would start in most positions every week.

if we get rid of the three named duds, i would like a left back and another defensive mid. i think that would be a fantastic activity in this window and would an extremely strong squad.

i totally agree, he had a few cracking games when i saw him play but i was refering to the amount of time he spent on the bench or in the stands keltoi.

ashley young has a bit of flair about him though, i'd say he's villa's best player

 

I hope that is the case but remember this is the player that left Celtic after his first good season in the first team. Saying you've learned your lesson is different to actually learning the lesson. He could easily slip back into old habits.

it certainly will but tbh i think people seem to be under the impression he thinks he's big time because he left us to go down south. he always put the effort in when he was here first time and i dont see why that will have changed, if anything i expect him to try even harder.

i dont remember people doubting charlie nic this much whenever he came back from england

yip clagan your right there ,he will have to impress to win over some of the doubters who didnt want him back including myself ,time will tell ,but if he did fall short and maybe go a bit huffy ,im sure strachan will not hesitate to do what he done to balde ,bye not playing him and the signals would be alarming to future buyers im sure

Last weeks match proved we needed a bit more creative flair.
Welcome Home son! I don't blame him for trying his luck in the epl, and fair play to him for coming back to face some of the negative numpties!

 

cheers mate. tbh i wouldn't mind if he stays or goes. if he goes we would definitly need another midfielder in imo.

 

Not over excited he's back but he was a good player for us. I won't be moaning about this but I will expect him to work his socks clean off to make it up to us. We paid his wages through his injuries and whilst he was just trying to make it and leaving like he did for a million when we could have got much more is very annoying.

Lets hope he can do the job and help us to 4-in-a-row.

 

I do indeed - was at Scumdee at the weekend, and although Naka did really bearing in mind his lack of fitness, i thought Scotty Mc looked awful and we clearly need more invention.

Great to have him back, loved him playing for us.

Sure it is quite awkward situation, both for us and for sure him. I guess he will have to make some great performances to make fans love him again, hope it will happen.

Not sure about position he is gonna play on. Aiden should stay on left wing, so either Naka will be moved to center and Shaun on right wing or maybe she should play in attack with Jan - considering Skippy is currently in * poor shape.
