I can't understand the defeatist attitude by some on here. Don't believe the hype.

Goalless draw v Luxembourg part-timers, needed a 92nd min winner against an atrocious Kilmarnock side, same against a distinctly average Legia side, struggling against a poor Hibs side before the officials gave them a man advantage.

We have more than enough in our team to comprehensively beat them. As long as we keep our composure, win our individual battles and don't give any opportunities to the officials to change the course of the game; we will come out on top.

Fancied us but not so much if Ajer, Elhamed and Jozo all miss it

 

He never goes the right way. He litterly showed the striker what way hes diving so he could pass it in the net at the other side. On the replay gordon starts moving to his right, hands out while theguys no even near the ball... Hes a backup to Forster and thats all.

 

What about the way we won?

They are not the messiahs the media are making them out to be.

If our big guns are in the mood on Sunday I can see them torching that defence of theirs. Very slow on the turn and cumbersome.

 

They look a lot slower than last year, a lot, lot slower without Candaes (al be * if I can spell that * name) and Kent.

We’re also looking much quicker at the back and it was counters that was * us. Counters still are to an extent but you need to move it fast and be fast to do it.

They look more powerful though, big strong *, something we need to be aware of.

It is quite amusing the way he wildly leaps in the wrong direction almost every time. Although Id be far from amused if that happened on Sunday, play Forster.

 

Totally agree! They struggle against mediocre opponents. We still have the edge in quality. One thing Gerrard has done though is made them harder to beat, has a strong attitude instilled in them. But we score against everyone, this time wont be different. Cant understand this negativism by some, even in our worst game to date we scored three goals.

Not sure what kind of game we can expect. My feeling says if we can survive the first 15mins, we will cruise it. As they will come out all guns blazing and putting double pressure on each player with the ball. Which usually lasts about 20mins as they cannot keep that up. Then our attacking quality will do its duty and slice them open time after time.

 

Agree with all that Dev. It's frustrating that we might not have Elhamed and Ajer as I'd be extremely confident with them in there.

There's always a risk of flinging in a guy on their Debut, hopefully Bauer doesn't put in an El Kaddouri-esque performance (minus the squiggly goal)

We need to keep it tight at set pieces, no players losing their man like we did against Cluj and Motherwell. They'll be dropping like flies in and around our box and Madden will be only too happy to oblige.

 

We as a club expect and hope we can play in the CL,Playing in the EL doesnt have the same appeal to us as it does to them,our win tonight was nothing special as we had a 2 goal cushion going into the game ,so while it was a good performance the win its self was good but imo wouldn't have the players celebrating in the dressing room or anything like that.

Look at the hun after the whistle went,ye think the * had won the CL final,what im trying to say is they will take more out of their win tonight than we will from ours(partly because we had one foot in the Group stages and the 2nd leg was pretty easy for us.

 

Our win tonight was nothing special but there's was amazing.
