We’ve needed a destroyer since Wanyama left. Get it done

He said: "I'm thinking about a move to European football. I'm trying to be calm about it and take it easy.

"The representatives of Celtic have been in talks for some time with the president of Imbabura.

"An agreement has to be reached this week if the transfer is to go through.

"But if the deal doesn't go through I am relaxed because I have offers from other clubs in Europe and Ecuador. It's important to make the best decision for me.

"It would be very difficult to adapt to life in a country like Scotland, but with time I think I would be able to settle in.

"I've already done English lessons - not a lot, but I have learned enough."

He said: "I always want to be a humble person. We are the youth champions of South America and we are the third best team in the world, but I am still the same man. I play with humility.

"I look at my football as a treat. I always want to enjoy myself.

"I suppose my life changed after those tournaments, but I know I have to keep working hard if I want a good career in football."

    Interesting..

That's him and Cifuentes both saying we want them..

Both look class. Quintero the big destroyer and Cifuentes the big destroying ball player :giggle1:

Can't see us signing both outright. Maybe we get Quintero, City sign Cifuentes and we loan him. Makes it easier for both to settle here, plus gaining European experience..

Girona was a good move for City youngsters but I'd say we're more appealing now that they were relegated..

Be quality if we got either. Would be some statement if we got both..

Mentioning our name, that he's learning English and could adapt in time in Scotland..

That is him sounding half coy in that article as well...which is his right..

Actually Connell done the same. Mentioned us, then said he'd be taking time to decide his options and signs quickly after..

Think that’s standard agent talk these days. If the deal falls through the player can always claim somewhere else always being where he thought he’d end up or wanted to

Never seen him play but he sounds like the exact type of player we need in the defensive midfield role.

Plus any player with comparisons to Wanyama is always welcome here :giggle1:

Things are starting to get a bit exciting in this window.

    Jullien
    Bolingoli
    Connell
    Sawyers
    Quintero
    Cifuentes
    Smith
    (Striker)

That would be some statement if we round off the window like that.

    Jullien - £7m
    Bolingoli - £3m
    Connell - £0.3m
    Sawyers - £2.5m
    Quintero - £1.5m ???
    Cifuentes - £1.5m ???
    Smith - £3m
    (Striker) - Loan
    Be'er Sheava CB - £1.6m

That's £20.4m spent and you could easily claw back 60% - 70% of that on Ntcham £12m - £14m IMO
