So Hammarby bought him for 1 million pound, less than a year ago. He have had a half decent season, not more, and looking to sell him for about 5 million pounds. I hope we don’t fall for this! There are better players to go for, for more reasonable amounts. We could get Stroud for less than that, who is a better player!

Well that’s the thing though, he has not really been impressive to say the least. So the price tag does not justify his performance.

 

If his club wants 5 mill then why can't we just sign Clement Bischoff for £6 mill that's his release clause. Oh wait our board don't sign anyone who makes sense & which shows a level of ambition.

On Wednesday, Expressen reported that Celtic had made a bid of 33 million kronor for Sebastian Tounekti, but that Hammarby had said no because they wanted even more money for him.



Now Fotbollskanalen has learned that the Scottish giants are about to make another bid and that it will be about ten million more.



The club's sporting director Mikael Hjelmberg says that as things stand now, he does not want to sell any more players than Jusef Erabi and Shaquille Pinas, who are both on their way abroad.



But at the same time, Hjelmberg says that he would not be surprised if more bids come in for someone before the transfer window closes.

Football Channel understands that Hammarby is preparing for Celtic to make such a good offer that they want to sell. Therefore, they are planning a scenario where they can try to recruit a possible replacement, and that two players they are showing interest in are IFK Norrköping's Isak Andri Sigurgeirsson and Brommapojkarna's Victor Lind.

Sigurgeirsson, 21, has a contract through 2026 and has scored three goals and seven assists in 20 starts and one substitute in this year's league games. Lind, 22, has a contract through 2027 and has scored seven goals and four assists in 21 starts.

Tounekti was at Thursday's training at Årsta and now confirms that Celtic wants him.

- You get to know some of what's going on and I've heard that there's interest. Of course it's great that a big club that often plays in the Champions League wants me. It's a top club in Europe. It's great that there's that kind of interest and it shows that you've done something good, he tells Fotbollskanalen.

Don't think the player would be talking about us specifically had we not reached out to his agent and spoken to them about a transfer. Makes me think this is definitely going to happen.

Would have preferred Breum, to be honest. Especially when Tounekti is going to cost around £4.5m and Breum would cost about £5.1m. For the sake of £600k, we are signing an older player with less first team games, less goals and less assists in less favourable leagues.

Breum has played 122 games, scoring 18 goals and providing 13 assists. He's only just turned 21, though
Tounekti has played 112 games, scoring 9 and providing 11 assists. He's over 2 years older than Breum.

 

Another underwhelming punt from the bottom of the bargain basement.
