Celtic have tabled a new improved £4 million bid for Sebastian Tounekti

The Scottish champions have gone back in after having an offer of around £3 million turned down by Hammarby earlier this week.


The Hoops are keen to land the talented Tunisian winger. The Swedish side, however, are reluctant to sell their prize asset.



They only purchased him the 23-year-old from Haugesund earlier this year.

Celtic face a fight to persuade Hammarby to sell.


Touekti has perviously been at Tromsdalen and Bodo Glimt, while he has also had a loan at Dutch side Groningen.

Brendan Rodgers is looking to ramp up his summer recruitment after they crashed out of the Champions League.

Thy have just brought in fellow winger Michel-Ange Balikwisha from Antwerp and Marcelo Saracchi from Boca Juniors

 

Good. I like the look of him.

Dolberg, Balikwisha and this lad would be encouraging. Still weird we aren't targeting a right winger though.

According to informed sources to Expressen, the Scottish club has raised its bid to 50 million kronor plus bonuses that could rise to a total of 60 million kronor

It was only a few days ago that Expressen revealed that Celtic had made an initial bid for Hammarby star player Sebastian Tounekti . The bid was worth a total of 33 million kronor.

But Bajen was clear to the Scottish club that they required double the minimum to consider a sale – and now Celtic is showing that they are not giving up on a signing.

According to information provided to Expressen, Celtic have made a new, increased bid for Tounekti. The new bid is expected to be €4.5 million – equivalent to 50 million kronor plus bonuses.


The total value of the deal could therefore rise to a total of 60 million kronor, if the bonuses come into play, according to information to Expressen. It remains to be seen what Hammarby chooses to do.

Several players have left the club. Shaquille Pinas is on his way to Al-Kholood in Saudi Arabia and Jusef Erabi is flying to London today to finalise a deal with Millwall.

According to information provided to Expressen, the Erabi deal is worth just over 50 million kronor, and the question is whether Tounekti will be the third key player to leave the green and whites

 

Think we will get this done..

 

Such a disappointing signing, in my opinion. Would have much preferred Breum and he was available for £1m more. Younger, more consistent in a better league.

 

You'd hope so.

The fact that they have two key players leaving does make it difficult however.

 

Breum is an attacking midfielder though.

This guy is an actual winger.

 

Played most of his games as a left winger, although they have brought him inside this season so far.

 

He honestly looks dreadful..

His goal contributions are pish
No particularly skilful
No particularly quick

I don't really see anything in him..

 

Not sure if I've been watching different highlights to others, but I think he looks very, very good. Tall, comfortable going inside or out, bit of flair, good technique. His stats aren't great but the highlights show at least 3 or 4 sitters missed by his teammates, and a few of his own off the woodwork.

 

Think he looks very good in this compilation. Not unlike Jota, albeit less skillful, still very capable of beating his man.

 

Is his creativity stats not similar to kuhns, one of the most creative players outside the big leagues?

 

Think he looks decent. Similar to Ørjasæter.

Fully agree. He's 6ft as well which is nice to have a winger with a bit of a presnece for a change too.

Think he looks very creative. It's obviously a gamble but with Balikwisha now on board and hopefully Jota to return in the new year we might have a bit more strenth in depth.

We would still need another winger on top of him IMO.

I think McGrory mentioned he was actually targeted as a Hatate replacement originally, which would stack up with him being moved more centrally.

 

He'd be a decent option in the squad certainly, no issues with us moving ahead and getting it done but I just don't see him being anything more than emergency cover out wide. Seems to be far more suited to playing centrally. For the money involved we should be getting it done but the wings have to be priority now.

 

Reckon this one gets done. This and a back up striker are our late deadline day deals.

Hopefully get big Kasper sorted before then

 

He will fit in nicely with all the other dead wood then.
