I will give him a challenge.

    in 90 minutes can you;

    1) refrain from scoring an O.G.
    2) Refrain from wandering into midfield (until you have the pace and stamina to get back)
    3) refrain from diving into the back of the opposition OR blatantly bringing them down in or around the box.
    4) Refrain from shouting at your team mates (ONLY) when the team loses a goal, a captain should be shouting and orginising through the whole match

Mick and Caldwell are also international defenders and they have far more experience and 20 times his CV. Afraid being an international for wee countrys like us and Ireland doesnt mean a lot.

McManus and Caldwell are coming from the spl, not the championship. Both are criticised on a weekly basis and celtic are trying their best to punt both.

    Thats the difference.

So many people are judging this player based on the team he plays for. It's ridiculous, those of us who have seen him play a bit (albeit only for Ireland) can at least attest to the guy's ability to come up big in games against the likes of France and Italy. I would rather have a guy like that than McManus or Loovens who are both jokes atm.

I would rather see a guy over a long period of time than just in big games...how is he ins the bread and butter games?

Everyone was raving about Fox as well and he came from the likes of Coventry. Don't understand the double standard.

Yeah, i hadn't seen much of fox before he came. Decent player, not overly great though. Hope he improves to a greater standard than current

I have serious doubts about this if it goes through - reminds me of the Fortune deal too much.

I'm much happier with signings outwith England & Scotland.

McGinn, Jos, N'Guemo, Crosas, Hinkel, Boruc...v's

Fortune, Broon, McDonald, Samaras, Fox, Naylor, Caldwell, Loovens, Robson, Wilson.

When you consider the price difference ontop of the footballing ability, it's a no brainer.

No more players from England & Scotland please, the value isn't there for us.

James McCarthy went for 3millions & McGinn was 200k. Even Crosas was less than 1/2 price of McCarthy & had played for Lyon compared to Hamilton ffs.

you make a fair point there, player valuations here are way over the top cos of the epl & championship to some extent. there are better deals to be done elsewhere.

We signed Fortune from Nancy the same club as N'Guemo.

Just thought I would add that

westbrom had a great deal with nancy but when they did not take up the offer the fee nearly trebled because other epl teams came in for him so his fee rose only because he played in epl:celt_2:
