A preseason tour in Japan isn’t make or break for any player.

 

Impact sub at this point. Flatters to deceive too often.

 

He looked so promising when he had that run last season, really disappointing he hasn’t kicked on. Thought he was going to be a star for us.

 

It isn’t but he’s flattered to deceive 90% of his time here.

Seems to be an okay impact sub but more often than not contributes next to nothing.

Just don’t really know what he’s supposed to be great at.

 

Looks a total square peg in a round hole for us at the moment but not writing him off just yet.

 

He was though that’s the thing. He looked every bit as good as Jota during that period last season when he won POTM. * knows what’s happened. Could be an attitude thing but he seemed to have a good attitude whenever he spoke so it’s a really strange one .

 

Pretty much what Paddy said, has good attributes but lacks that something to make it all click.

Not based on just pre-season games but over the course of his time here, he's one I'd sell to raise additional funds and free up space in the squad.

 

Wouldn’t mind seeing him be one of the ones being told he is on the transfer list.

Don’t know what he brings to the team, because he doesn’t fit into the football style.

 

Not showing anywhere near enough. This isn't just a pre-season thing either - he was pish whenever he started games last season.

But it's weird, because there's a very good player in there. I've seen people say he's being played out of position and maybe that's right enough. However, he should still be doing more when he gets into certain areas.

We will know by January if it’s going to work. He’s got a big role to play now, he needs to step up to that.

Once the team is flying domestically I think he will be contributing a lot.

 

Over that spell. He played 270 minutes over the 5 games.

It took him another 5 months (14 games) to play 270 minutes after that.

He had injury issues during that period too but maybe he's a guy that needs a good run of games to get into his groove.

 

Weird because in the training videos he really looks like he's putting the work in. It's not showing in games though.

There is still time so hopefully he starts showing it, he's clearly talented.

 

I am glad we got him at 1.7m. Might come good but it's not looking that promising. Probably better off the bench cause everything has slowed down at that point.
