Scott Sinclair!

And to think there was a few fans on here that didn't want to sign him!

 

Said it that first game he played against Hearts, he'd take us up a level. We have some forward line now.

 

The strange thing is, as individual players our forward line is brilliant, yet we still struggle to finish a lot of our chances. The same can be said of our defence, as individuals it's a great back line, but they're so vulnerable to lapses in concentration that always seem to cost us!

 

He's a absolutely superb finisher. Such a rarity to find in a winger...

 

My Newcastle supporting mate claims Sinclair wouldn't get in any of the premier league teams down south Which is why they all rejected him

 

We had every right to be cautious. Before he came here, He hadn't done anything of note since 2012. Thankfully, he's proved his quality

 

What a steal this guy has been.

I think it's fair to say there was a lot of apathy towards his signing, certainly shut up a lot of people.

 

for me all over the place tonight, not like him at all, poor in all areas of his game.

 

You have to wonder what might have been if he had scored his chance.

 

Poor tonight, very poor.

 

Thought he was really hesitant tonight, but great run for what should've been the opener..

Unlike him..

Was a tough game for all though, that's the bottom line..

 

Thought him, along with Forrest and Dembele were all poor. That being said, they didn't have many chances to really threaten and our midfield gave them and our backline zero support.

He needed to do better with his 2 chances, but I don't think he was horrible, just not good.

 

None of our forward line were given much service at all tonight.

Rogic tried his best to make things happen I thought, whereas Bitton was just gash. Brown elected to go sideways rather than forward a lot of the time, which didn't help matters.

I don't think Sinclair had a poor game necessarily, but like any good attacking player, he thrives on support from the midfield and there was none forthcoming tonight.

 

At this level, chances like the one he had just before halftime you've just got to take them.

That was a very disappointing miss from what is an experienced player, he times his run to perfection and it was a great run, but he's then got to show better awareness that he had time to take a touch and open the goal up more to find the net.

 

Sort of how I saw it, its like Lukaku at Everton - he went through the odd game where however hard he tried, it just would not click for him. Tonight was one of those nights for Scott.

 

He really disappointed me in all honesty. He was poor on the ball

 

Didn't turn up really, I like how he cuts inside and makes runs through the middle but he needed to hold out wide more often, needs to be protecting the ball better as well, was just weak.

 

possibly his worst game for us tonight which was surprising as he has been a standout.

Should have buried his chance, would have changed the game.

wont hold it against him though one bad performance is nothing to woryy about

 

As discussed we are too narrow far too often.
