Great player for us contributed so many great moments, shame its worked out how it has could've been used more often this season as back up when you see how many times Morgans got a game, but it's best for everybody he moves on and good luck to him.

I am never one for tittle tattle but apparently that was the issue on a £5k appearance money and significant scoring bonus!

 

Just seen a stat there. We scored 397 goals during the treble treble. Sinclair was directly involved in 134 of them (goals and assists).

That means he was involved in 34% of our goals during the Treble Treble.

Remarkable.

I knew a deal had fallen through but didn't know he had caused it. Bad communication between the club and the player - maybe if they'd made it clear to him he wasn't in their plans at all he would have gone and if he'd told them he wasn't going anywhere then they wouldn't have activated the extension to his contract. Just a shame the way it turned out for a player that made such a big contribution over the treble treble years.

Yes hopefully allow us to make a legit top quality signing coming in the other way this month. Beyond that if indeed this is the end for Sinclair in the hoops he will be a player I will wish nothing but the best for. It has not ended on a high but boy did he hit many high notes during his time at Celtic. Will always be a Celt I will admire and be thankful for having seen in the hoops.

Completed his medical at Preston..

 

Celtic winger Scott Sinclair has completed a medical with Preston North End as he nears a move away from the Scottish champions.

Sinclair left Celtic’s winter training base in Dubai after discussions between the clubs and looks set to complete the switch in the next 24 hours.

The 30-year-old has entered the last six months of his contract in Glasgow and has been unable to win a regular first team place under manager Neil Lennon.

Sinclair arrived as the most high profile of Brendan Rodgers’ signings when he arrived at the club in 2016. The Englishman scored a late winner against Hearts on his debut and went on to enjoy a scintillating first season, earning the player of the year award as Celtic went unbeaten and won the treble.

The forward continued to make a contribution in his second season at the club but his status as an automatic choice eroded over time and he found himself sidelined in favour of other players.

Celtic exercised a clause to extend his contract last year but he has been unable to force his way into Lennon’s plans and has been allowed to seek first team football elsewhere
