I can. I'm not sure there is the amount of forward thinking that would require going on a the club at the minute.

I'm expect Lenny's meetings with Pl and Hammond have gone along the lines of:
Lenny: We desperately need a quality left back ASAP guys.
PL: Nicky is working hard behind the scenes on that don't worry.
    Some time later...
PL: Good news Neil, got you a keeper on loan.
Lenny: thanks that is good news, and what about the LB?
    PL: What left back?
Lenny: The one I have been going on about at every meeting!
PL: Right, right. I'm sure Nick is on it as we speak.
    Later...
PL Here's the RB on loan as promised Neil
Lenny: Well we do need RB cover so that's helpful, and the LB?
    PL: LB?
Lenny: sigh, yes the LB I keep going on and on about.
    PL: It's all in hand.
    Later...
PL: Neil, here's that left winger on loan you've been banging on about for months!
    Lenny: Oh FFS

Becomes apparent why he’s being pushed out now IMO.

His wages are needed for our new 16 million quid winger from the Premiership.

Sunderland are plotting a last-gasp raid for frozen-out Celtic winger Scott Sinclair, Football Insider understands.

The 30-year-old has been given the green light to leave Parkhead on deadline day after once again being omitted from the Hoops squad for yesterday’s 2-0 Old Firm win at Ibrox.

A Sunderland source has told Football Insider that the north-east big hitters have set their sights on taking advantage of the availability of SInclair, who came close to joining Derby County earlier this month.

There is also strong interest in the £30,000-a-week star from overseas clubs on the final day of the main European window.

Sinclair is looking to end his three-year association with Celtic are plummeting down the pecking order this season under Neil Lennon.

He has failed to even make the matchday squad for the last four European ties as well as yesterday’s landmark triumph over Rangers.

Celtic announced on Friday they had signed Mohamed Elyounoussi on a season-long loan from Southampton and he is set to slot into the left-wing position in Neil Lennon’s side.

Sunderland, managed by ex-St Mirren boss Jack Ross, are interested in Sinclair after Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Peterborough highlighted their lack of attacking firepower despite the presence of Hoops old boy Aiden McGeady on the wing.

Lennon’s first choice wide men this season have been James Forrest and Mikey Johnstone, while yesterday’s scorer Jonny Hayes, Ryan Christie, Lewis Morgan and Marian Shved are also ahead of Sinclair in the pecking order.

Sinclair is in the final year of his contract at Parkhead after Celtic triggered a 12-month extension to his original deal in May.

Last week I would have said we play enough games over the season he could still have a chance to contribute and worth keeping in the squad, but with the younger guys coming through, and Elyounoussi joining up now I don't see it.

McGeady scored about 15 League One goals last year, Sinclair would hit 50 ffs.

Hopefully he goes for his sake and ours, he's getting to an age now where he should be looking to maximise his playing time.

We could also be doing without a guy earning 35k a week to sit in the stand. Getting elyonoussi in was the final nail in the coffin in terms of his celtic career.

SCOTT SINCLAIR will NOT be joining Sunderland.

The Celtic winger was linked with League One side but with the clock striking 5pm the transfer window down south is now closed.

For a move to go through the Hoops would have to release the winger and Sinclair would need to sign for the Black Cats as a free agent.

But it looks unlikely that a deal will happen as Sunderland would struggle to pay Sinclair's wages without the help of Celtic.

This is embarrassing for the club after triggering his extension, and it is rotten for Sinclair being frozen out.

In hindsight, we should have let him leave a hero last year.
