Agree with this. No one can argue with what he's given us and we do need someone in that will compete with mikey for that position if he goes.

The finish against anderlecht and the goals against the huns immediately spring to mind but the guy has been nothing but class in how he's dealt with being in and out of the team.

There comes a time where it just might be best to move on and bring in the next hero if the right offer comes in. It doesn't sit right to see him taking home the same as broony and KT if he's not the key player he was.

All depends of course on how we used his wage - id rather keep him if its not reinvested

He’s not put in a performance v The Hun in a good while..

Sun reporting Preston favour a loan deal, that won’t happen.

PRESTON are keen on bringing in Scott Sinclair on loan for the season, according to reports.

The Celtic star has a year left on his contract after the club triggered an option to extend his deal earlier this year.

But that hasn’t tempered the English Championship club’s interest in the 30-year-old.

According to the Lancashire Evening Post, Preston have enquired about the possibility of taking Sinclair on a season-long loan deal.

However, Celtic reportedly knocked that back as they would prefer a permanent transfer for the midfielder.

It would reportedly cost £2.5million for Alex Neil’s side to get their hands on Sinclair, which combined with his wages, would be beyond their reach.

Preston only have until Thursday August 8 before the transfer window shuts for clubs in the top two tiers of English football.

But they could reportedly renew their interest in Sinclair if Celtic could be persuaded to allow him to leave on loan and share the cost of his wages.

nclair has made 162 appearances in all competitions since joining the Hoops in the summer of 2016, scoring 61 goals.

But he has had to settle for substitute appearances so far this season and didn’t feature at all in the 5-0 Champions League qualifying win over Nomme Kalju.

On loan * right off! Chances *!

Celtic need to stop going down England for players they are just money grabbing * who look down on us! We are bigger than 90% of any English teams when you take the cash out of the equation!

He's only played as a sub recently but I've been very impressed with his energy when he's came on, it looks like he could be getting back to his old self, maybe the competition is good for him and us.

He's worth far more to us than £2.5m. We definitely don't need to be adding another player to our 'wanted' list.

A loan deal would be absurd. We would have been better off just not extending his contract than letting him go on loan and paying part of his wages.

I'd rather keep him as backup for a season than let him go on loan.

A loan deal is a non starter surely.

It would mean we’re basically giving him away for free to get him off the wage bill. Which wouldn’t make sense as we would have had him off the wage bill if we hadn’t extended his contract an extra year.

    Cash or Keep.

    Sell or nothing .
No point putting him on loan as it still costs us money on a portion of his wages then he can walk for nothing next May .

How many times has this been said in the last 12 months!?

I'd be happy to get some money for him.

I’d punt him, he will do his usual go to a new club have a good season then back to mediocrity.

It's clear he isn't in Lenny's plans, so would make sense to punt him, he would be an expensive luxury warming the bench, one that we canny really afford.

Loaning him would be pointless but I wouldn’t be against punting him for that fee.

On far too much to be a sub.

Would be ridiculous to let him go in my opinion.

To sum up his contribution, he is the joint fourth top goalscorer during our 10IAR era with Gary Hooper. That is a contribution worth more than £2.5m I’m afraid.

Is there anyone currently in the team that can replace him? Remains to be seen what Mikey Johnstone can do over a season. And who else? Shved? What’s he like for us? Will he get over his injuries? Nobody knows.

A fair degree of uncertainty in that position but you at least get a degree of certainty from Sinclair and his record.

I'm not really arsed about how much hes on.

As a fan that doesn't bother me because if we get him off the bill it probably wont go to someone else. If I was confident he was completely finished then I'd be more fussed about realising his wage.

However I still think he can contribute a fair bit to us over the course of a 65 game season.

Unless I could see who we planned to replace him with, I'm not sure.

He's on too much money for what he now offers and other options available.

His form has dipped since his first season but if he'd maintained that he'd be playing for a top 8 Premiership side. Currently Mikey Johnston is a downgrade on him at present
