Transfer fee is low but if the rumours that he was on 45 are true, or even if its 35 that's a hefty wage off the bill. We'd need to replace his goals but, which wouldn't be easy.

Agree with this. He's scored a lot of goals but since his first season he has frustrated with his inconsistent performances and unwillingness to take defenders on.

He's been a superb signing and has been a huge contributor towards the treble treble but as mentioned Lenny is the manager now and he is looking to put his stamp on the team.

2.5 million is a fair price given his age, we could be put the money towards finding a replacement

No ones going to pay what his goals are worth to us. Awful business

Why can't his goals be replaced? Players like Johnston could easily replace the goals and create more chances

Sold...lots of goals and assists but doesn't feel like it. Too many no shows during games and then in right place to score. Seems weird to say all that and want him sold
But it wouldn't really bother me.
Mikey is in the wings to take over but who else is on the left to do as much damage?.

Out on the left we can play

    Johnson
    Eddie
    Forrest
    Hayes
    Morgan
    Arzani

We can always play 3-5-2 and play KT as left wing back

Sinclair isn't fancied by Lenny. And by keeping him, and him leaving for free will cost the club 3.75m for his services for the year.

If we are going to throw that money away for 1 season, I'd rather we loan a player and pay them 80k a week to play in number 7 jersey, similar to the lift Bellamy and Keane give us.

And I see that as a waste of resources as it is.

Unperturbed if he leaves. Had a * of a 1st season and kind of rode on the coat tails of that since. Performances were extremely inconsistent.
I definitely see MJ getting more game time and if he gets it should achieve 10+ goals.
There’s goals all over the team so although his stats were very good, they’re not irreplaceable.
Leicester no want him as The snaje hardly dropped him!

His goals and assists can certainly be replaced, if not from the left wing, from elsewhere.

I 100% get the argument that he contributes goals that need replacing but would we honestly say we trust him in that wide left role in the big games going forward? He's been a brilliant contributor especially in that first season but for the wages he's on I think we can attract better. Might be on my own here but I don't feel inspired seeing him come off the bench when we need a spark?

Hes a big confidence player and that's maybe why hes struggled to make a major impact from the bench. Why punt him for peanuts though when hes a 10 plus goal banker

20 goals a season will be hard to replace, essentially we'd be relying on guys who are completely unproven for us to deliver what he has.

I guess the hope would be that the spare wage would allow a calibre signing to come and fill the void but that would seem way too progressive and exciting for this board to consider.

Basically I don't think his wage justifies his importance to the team at the moment. Would love him to prove us all wrong but I really do think mikey johnston will make that spot his own this year

Celtic winger Scott Sinclair is the subject of interest from Championship side Preston North End.

It is understood that Preston manager Alex Neil is weighing up a £2.5m offer for the 30-year-old Englishman who has yet to start a game for Celtic this season.

The Parkhead side triggered an additional year on Sinclair’s contract in May this year but the lack of game time may be something which would encourage him to look at options elsewhere.

Sinclair has scored 61 goals for Celtic since former manager Brendan Rodgers signed him for the club in 2016

Can't see Preston North end matching the wages or that transfer fee for a 30 year old

I think he’d be a loss, regardless of his seemingly unproductive performances he still managed quite the goal haul .

He may wish to be nearer his young family and has played well for us and created history with the rest of his team mates.

If he goes he goes wth my thanks, fond merorues and best wishes.

A note of caution to everyone who thinks young MJ will step up to the plate every week. This young man needs time and space to further develop. It’s a crime that there is no proper reserve football in Scotland to allow squad players competitive playing time when not in the first team as guys like MJ would benefit if he is not getting regular first team matches.

Lenny believes in him and his judgement must be trusted.

    Anyway....

Scott Sinclair, when he goes, will leave us with medals and memories never to be repeated. It was a transfer that worked for us and the player.

He's been a brilliant signing. His return shows what investing in the finished article can provide. I'd not be looking to lose him.
