Best part of 40k a week. The club are banking on a new manager getting him back to his best. (which is very very good in Scotland)

Whatever fee he earns is neither here nor there for me. If he was sold then I wouldn’t hold much hope that his wage would be used to get a player/players. After all, there are plenty of millions earned from several transfer windows which have never been utilised in playing personnel. Unless you are Peter Lawwell, who cares what he is paid?

Anyway, he is a good player so he shouldn’t be sold. Might not have been playing great over the last while but he is undoubtedly an integral part of a potential treble treble winning Celtic team.

Hopefully we can move him on during the summer.
He lost his mojo a long time ago and is not worth his wages now .

Needs surrounding with better players. His best times at the club came when Dembele, Armstoring & Roberts were with us.
I don't think he's a strong enough player or personality to be the 'main man' so to speak, which is seemingly what fans want. He feeds off the the creativity of others and will then score goals, whether people like to admit it or not.
I hope he stays and we fill our team with better players this summer, he'll score 15+ again if we do. 15+ goals in all competitions is worth 1.7 mill as far as I'm concerned.

Will cost you a lot more to take cover the assist and goals got to agree with others he needs a new lease of life and a manager who doesn’t want to put crosses into a box with a striker who can’t head!

Triggering his option is a no brainer. He is nowhere close to being as bad as some folk like to make out.

His end product is superb, even when he's supposedly '*'. Some folk just literally refuse to give him credit.

We cannot sign a cb or a backup to Tierney, but we can give a ridiculously high wage to a guy past his peak who isn't better than Hayes

Celtic have triggered the final-year clause in Scott Sinclair's contract, manager Neil Lennon has confirmed.

The winger, 30, moved to Celtic Park from Aston Villa for £3.5m in the summer of 2016.

He has scored 17 goals in 51 appearances for the Scottish champions this season.

"Scotty will be here for another year," said Lennon. "He has been a good player since he walked in the door. It's a big boost for the squad."

Sinclair, who played in the Great Britain team at the 2012 Olympics, was at Chelsea, Swansea and Manchester City before joining Villa in 2015.

"He has made a big contribution in the goals column and that football intelligence and experience is always important to have around," added Lennon.

"There is a familiarity there for Scott going into the Champions League qualifiers next season. He is one we don't need to replace."

In short, penalties, having almost 100% playing time until recently due to manager choices and no injuries, and being a right footed left winger he shoots more often which leads to more goals and less assists.

He certainly was 6 months ago, albeit still quite far from being our best player as having the highest wage would imply.

    Right now he isnt.

I'm happy to keep him. He puts up numbers, looks after the ball well and is settled in the squad.

You usually pay your best player the highest wages.

    So not McGregor.
    Not Tierney.
    Not Rogic.
    Not Ajer.
    Not Forrest.

    It's Scott Sinclair

You cant argue that he was our best player in his first season. He was incredible. I'd punt now, but I like the look of his wife.

  18. Can't really fault the man for having this negotiated in his contract when he joined, he blitzed the first season and despite his form is still racking up close to 20 goals each season, on paper his agent will have had a field day getting that extension and pay rise triggered and signed off.

Question really is, will he even be here for the start of next season, that is still up for debate.

If you don’t think having Sinclair here next season when our squad is going to be going through a massive transition, you’re a fucktard.

He’s capable of scoring a potential winner in a Champions Legaue qualifier, or an important league game, or a domestic cup game. If it’s a winner in a Champions League qualifier, it’s a priceless piece of business.

If you call someone on a football forum a 'fucktard' for having a different opinion to you then you're struggling big time.

Is Sinclair capable of scoring a potential winner in a Champions League qualifier, League game or domestic cup game? Aye

Has he contributed to our success in recent seasons? Aye

Are his bad games much more frequent than his good ones these days? Aye

Is he giving us value for money at circa £30k per week? Naw

Can we afford to be paying £30k per week to a guy that's not an automatic starter when fit? Naw, we can't.
