Makes sense to trigger the extension option, whether we look to sell him or keep him.

He's a winger, that despite his utter * form us as late is still able to snag 15 odd goals a season, to a team like Boro wanting promotion and what his goals could mean if he has another one season wonder, £2mill is a con, regardless of his age and contract status.

Aye, however this doesn't really rule out many teams in the top 2 English leagues.

It’s just some paper talk anyway.. not a real bid of £2m.

Doubt we'd sell for that low a sum anyway.

I’d expect to recoup what we paid at least. I think that was about £3m or £3.5m iirc.

An amazing first season form that he never got close to again the following two seasons, he’s a player needs a move to get motivated again, just now he’s got no real competition and is picking up 30K per week easy, can tell he’s not bothered. Would hope to get more than 2M for him but.

Absolute no brainier to extend his contract. A natural goalscorer. Only scored one less than Forrest this season.

I would take the money, I just think he is past his best for us, free up some wages, and I think Hayes is more dangerous atm, that’s saying something

He literally isn't. Hayes isn't capable of scoring as many as Sinclair does.

He is really inconsistent, first season he was unplayable a just think the past 2 seasons he doesn’t even seem bothered that he is on the bench, he won’t even try and take it past players like he used to, Hayes will at least have a go, I like Sinclair and he has scored good goals for Celtic a just think his time has come to an end, I would love to be proved wrong rite enough.

CELTIC will pay Scott Sinclair almost £1.7MILLION after taking up a 12-month option on the hugely lucrative deal he signed in 2016.

SunSport revealed on March 5 the £35,000-a-week frontman, who cost £3.5m from Aston Villa, was unsure of his Parkhead future as he waited for chief executive Peter Lawwell to make a decision.

Sinclair, who has netted 17 goals this term, could have become a free agent at the end of the campaign.

Now the Hoops have opted to keep the 30-year-old on a salary that’s understood to leave him as the club’s highest earner

Yet the out of form Sinclair could still leave with Middlesbrough pondering a £2m swoop.

Sinclair’s experience in the top-flight and Championship promotion has put him in Boro’s sights.

In his first season at Celtic he delivered 25 goals as they clinched a remarkable Invincible Treble and scooped the player of the year awards

He followed that with 18 in another Treble season although it was felt his performances had dipped.

I’m hoping a new manager might get him back to his first season form. Even though he’s nowhere near that form his stats this season are still decent.

35k a week, for another year, if he scores at least 17 plus goals then he will be worth it but is he going to start next season?

If I’m honest he is not my cup of tea but he does get goals.
