    He’s been consistent this season.

I think he goes on periods of picking up his game, going at people and scores goals......I think he's scored 6 so far this season in all competitions? He seems to drift in and out of games and I'm sorry but In my opinion he lacks composure at times in front of goal and is easily pushed off the ball. I'm not saying he doesn't try but I honestly believe he doesn't suit our game.

    Blatantly untrue.

Rodgers dropped him last season when he was adding nothing to the side, lately he’s been playing well for the team.

His finishing isn’t great, I agree. I still believe he brings a lot to the team though.

He's had a couple of decent games, nowhere near the player he was i'm sure you will agree. He's had a while to pull it back, hope he does but personally i can't see it. Laddies confidence is shot to pieces.

He’s had more than a couple. Yeah he’s not having the same impact as he did when he first arrived but I don’t think he’ll have that impact again.

Not often I 100% disagree with you, Jeannie; but I can't see this one. Not only does he suit our game, I think he's vital to the way we play under Brendan!

I don't disagree that his finishing is not great and he can drift out of games at times, I think we can all see that. I won't complain if we replace him with someone better, but that won't come cheap. Paddy's suggestion of Edouard would probably work quite well, but would leave us with only Griffiths up front and therefore needing to buy a new striker, which if anything will be even more expensive. I think we have other priorities for our money at the moment, namely:

2 quality CB's (to replace Boyata and Benkovic who are both off) --> a new RB --> a new GK (one who can save like Gordon and kick like Dorus).

If and when we sort all that out and if we still have cash to spare (which seems unlikely in the short term), I'll be happy to see us go out and get someone better than Sinclair. Until then and frustrating though he undoubtedly is at times, he remains a very important player for us and anything but a squad player.

Personally I think his problems are psychological and I hope we have him seeing a top, top psychologist.

That Depeche Mode when we score!!

He is playing a lot better lately no doubt about that and i think he will be one of our important players as the season marches on,i can see him with slices of magic in the European theatre very much on the cards.

I get that he's scored a few match-winning goals for us this season and I'm not underplaying that but are we getting value for money out of the £30k per week we're currently giving him?

I don't think so and I can't remember the last sustained period that we were.

In my opinion we should be looking to strengthen LW and if we did that Sinclair would have to leave as you can't justify those wages on a guy that isn't an automatic pick.

For a long time? As bad as he is for 2 seasons running he has been top goal scorer. We sold the dembele for 20m and he never scored as much. Granted he went off the boil but somehow he's became the new whiping boy now Forrest has started playing good.

Only here would we get rid of our top scorer/assist maker as he's not good enough... mental.

Yes for a long time. If we're spending £30k per week on a player in the SPFL then in my opinion he should regularly be standing out and justifying it. He isn't.

When was the last sustained period of good form from Sinclair in your opinion?

He has 1 goal from open play and 1 assist in our last 12 games.

But he’s been much better this season and is vital to how we play!

Some people are still absolutely blinkered. One of our top earners and his level of performance has been mainly duff for a year now. Again, look at our two wide players. Look what Forrest gives us on an almost weekly basis in comparison to Sinclair.

Until he starts performing over 90 minutes and not just scoring the odd goal every 10 matches, a squad player is exactly what he should be.

I’d rather see Morgan or Johnston get a shot there. Eddy at left wing and Griff up top.

Regardless, we need a new left winger in January. Because Sinclair isn’t good enough right now.

I don't think he has tbh. He finished top goal scorer last season in both the league and all comps for us and he was rotten, don't let the fact that he has been scoring a few more goals recently paper over the fact that he is unfortunately turned *.

I would like Morgan to be given a run of games. We don't really have any one for out left so we should be aiming to strengthen in the next 1 or 2 Windows.

Morgan deserves a shot at some point; but do you guys really think Sinclair is playing so badly that you are crying out for him to become a squad player behind a completely unproven youngster who has never played even at SPL level? :eek1:
    That genuinely shocks me.

He has not been playing well; but he really isn't that bad, guys. Of course Morgan deserves a chance at some point and if he tears it up, then that is different. The vast majority of unproven youngsters don't do that, though, so until then...

Eddy would probably be a decent shout out left domestically; but for Europe he doesn't have Sinclair's workrate and can be a bit selfish. Plus we all know Griff can't play lone striker in Europe, so Brendan would have to change his entire system.

As for buying a new LW, well eventually we will need to upgrade for sure; but in the next two windows, don't you think two new CB's (Boyata and Benkovic won't be here next season, Jozo is too injury prone and Hendry isn't good enough, so we'll only really have Ajer!) a new RB (I love Lustig and I so hoped it wouldn't be true, but it is clear now his legs are starting to go) and arguably even a GK that can kick (at the time of writing Gordon can still make the saves; but we don't know how much longer and to take the next step, we really need a GK that can recycle possession better with his feet) are all priorities to strengthen before LW, guys?
