Do England actually go to any other country for any of their players just now?

I dont feel so strongly on it because forster was picked and got the caps he deserved while here.
So I think Sinclair is capable of doing it while here. The door isn't completley closed in the manner it was with VVD which was * shocking considering he was a level above all alternatives.
it's just going to take something special in the next 3 CL games for sinclair. Wether it's fair that that is what it will take to be called up for them i don't know. But to me that's always what he would have had to do to get called up for them.

Aye vvd was the most obvious case of your leagues * biased. Never gets picked. Moves to sputhampton. Yet to play, possibly even train and gets picked. What *.

Crazy right? You would think English players would benefit from playing football abroad.

I guess it comes down to language barriers. A big percentage of people in Europe have a basic grasp of English at the very least. We don't place as much stock on learning a language on these islands.

It has to be the language thing. You don't have to look any further than the time joey Barton spoke English in a french accent when at marseille

Interesting article by Didi Hamman in the Racing Post at the weekend. I didn't agree with everything in it and I am not Hamman's biggest fan but in his opinion the only English player that could cut it in Spain or Germany is Kane. I'll stick the article in the England thread for anyone that is interested.

That's it in a nutshell about strachan a think everyone knows it now and he did fed questions and gave stupid answers to dodge the obvious that his disregard for players plying trade in Scotland cost us In the end I get the epl players b ut they have to be playing regular but to pick championship players who dint get a game over spfl players which I think is of a similar standard if not better because they have champions league football

SCOTT Sinclair would have loved to have been away with England during the recent international round of fixtures and played a part in their successful qualification to the World Cup finals in Russia.

Yet again, however, despite the winger’s sensational form for Celtic, a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s squad was not forthcoming. England’s loss is certainly Celtic’s gain.

As most of the Hoops first-team jetted across the world to represent their respective countries, the 28-year-old remained behind at Lennoxtown with a handful of his colleagues before being given some extended time off to recharge his batteries.

For Sinclair, it was a timely break, given his exertions in September when he played seven times in just 22 days as the Bhoys battled on three fronts – the Scottish Premiership, the League Cup and the UEFA Champions League.

And he told this week’s Celtic View that he will return to action this week reinvigorated and hungry to fire Celtic to more success during this next tranche of fixtures.

“There are so many games coming up thick and fast so it’s good to get your rest time in when you can and then when you come back you are ready to go again every Saturday and Wednesday for the next month,” said the Englishman in an exclusive interview.

“Obviously I would have loved to have been away with England and hopefully that call comes very soon, but at the moment I am enjoying my time off and when I get this down-time and my few days away I enjoy it.

“The upside of not going away on international duty is having time to relax and get my energy back and coming back in ready to go in again. I always take these times off and I think it works. It allows you to recharge a bit of both – mentally and physically – and it’s nice to spend time with your family.

“When you have that three or four days off, it does help. Once we all come back - the international boys and those who have been here in training - we will all be ready to go again.”

Given Brendan Rodgers’ side went into the international break on the back of a Glasgow derby win at Ibrox, a magnificent 3-0 Champions League victory away to Anderlecht and hard-fought 2-2 draw at home to Hibernian, Sinclair felt the shutdown had arrived at an opportune moment for the Bhoys.

“It’s always the case, regardless of the game, whether that’s the league, the Champions League or the cups – they are always tough games,” he said. “Coming off the back of the Rangers game, which is highly emotional for all the fans and everyone involved at Celtic, and then going away to Anderlecht to win our first away game in the Champions League, before coming home to play Hibs takes its toll.

"Then we had the break to energise ourselves and while some players will be on international duty, it’s a time to reflect and come back stronger.”

Sinclair will never get picked for England while he's playing in Scotland as Southall would be worried the reaction from the English media .
I'm afraid they think this is a pub league up here and if Sinclair moved back down say to west brom and was scoring goals then Southall would might pick him .

The win in Brussels added to our confidence. It allows us to go and play our own game and make sure we get the job done.

SS: "All we can do is look back and make sure we keep learning and keep being positive going into the next game

SS: We’ve improved up until now. We look back and reflect on the defeats and we all learn from those games.

SS: "For us we need to go out there with no fear. We need to go into tomorrow night’s game and play our best football" .

SS: "It's important to be relaxed as a player. We need to play our game, get the ball down, keep possession and create chances

SS: "We’ll go out there and play our game & soak up the atmosphere. With all the Celtic fans behind us it’ll be an enjoyable game"

SCOTT Sinclair says a relaxed mindset will be crucial in allowing Celtic to play their best football on Wednesday when they meet Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.

The Hoops winger maintained that the lessons learned from the opening game of the competition against Paris Saint-Germain, coupled with the confidence of the 3-0 win over Anderlecht in Brussels has prepared the team to be at their best in Munich.

Speaking at the Allianz Arena, Sinclair said: “We’ve improved up until now. We look back and reflect on the defeats and all we can do is learn from those games.

"After the PSG game we reflected on that and went into Anderlecht and got the win there. That gave us confidence so all we can do is look back and make sure we keep learning and keep being positive going into the next game.

“That win in Brussels added to our confidence, and winning away for the first time in five years gives us confidence and the belief we need. It allows us to go and play our own game and make sure we get the job done.

“We didn’t have fear against PSG but I think we put too much pressure on ourselves.

"Every player for Celtic wants to do well. Sometimes you can try hard and things don’t go right. I think it’s important to be relaxed as a player.

"When it’s the Champions League stage we still need to play our game, get the ball down, try and keep possession and create chances and hopefully, it can be an enjoyable game for us tomorrow.”
