    Why? It's a negotiation process and we have a strong hand if the player himself wants to rejoin Rodgers. I confidently predict we'll end up paying more than our original offer and less than Villa wanted.

    I'm actually glad we aren't paying over the odds for him. I would offer no more than £3.5M for him and if they reject that then see you later.

    £5-6M for him is outrageous after the season he's just had and I'd be raging if we caved in and paid that. Let them keep an unhappy player if that's what they want.
