I honestly think it will be the best 4.5m wev spent in a long time, this is guy is the real deal given a bit of form and some good management he will tear our league to shreds and is a good option for Europe! Really hope this happens!

  2. we could sell for double if he does well here.not bothered with price.hes still only 27.johansen is just about out the door for 2 mill plus so we have pretty much covered the fee.

It's what i'd expect him to cost aye. I just don't know if he's worth it.

I don't rate him as highly as others.

  4. its only3 million up front apparently.we only pay the extra 1.5 million if he scores or plays so many games.you only really pay the extra if it works out.so have no problem with the fee.

some people can never be happy.people moan for not spending, now we have spent maybe a million more than we usaully do and people are moaning its too much.

Im moaning because I don't think its the correct person - I have no qualms about us spending that much?:smiley-laughing002:

We're signing an overrated mercenary who has never fulfilled his potential. Somehow I don't think he will here at Celtic.

  6. Sounds like this is close to being tied up, I would be over the moon with him especially if he shows his Swansea form. Hits a great penalty to which is an area we are weak. Good at set pieces as well.

  7. Reading what Villa fans are saying about him is making me a bit more skeptical. But the whole Villa team was * last season

Aye. Effectively hoping he'll hit the form he did 4 years ago?

Who is Colm McGuigan can he be trusted more than Paul The Tim?

  9. We wouldn't be going through this charade if we had the good sense to hold onto to Anthony Stokes. Could have saved ourselves another £3M or £4 Million for other departments of the team.

  10. hes back under rodgers and in a much poorer league.dont think he will have much trouble up here.as much as i hate what the epl stands for.its light years ahead of scotland on the park.

  11. Jesus, not this again...

  12. Whats Stokes got to do with us signing a left winger?Stokes served his time with us and the team needs freshening up and guess what? You have to spend in order to do that.

  13. Essentially we need a left winger and we need pace, he has both of those. He's played with Rodgers before so he knows what to expect from and how to get the best out of him. So it makes sense. Also Rodgers working in a market he knows in his first season also makes sense, hes been in the door a couple of months and people are expecting us to be shopping in relatively obscure markets that Rodgers probably knows next to * all about. I'd expect next year to be looking outside of England. Mercenary seems a bit harsh as well.

Same here, ive always quite liked him i just thought his transfer to the man city bench ruined him really. used to watch him for swansea and he was superb. need a left winger and i know if he comes he will do well here:50:

  15. Yeah he will do a job and get goals for us.

Still think we need a clear out of centre mids and 1 marquee centre mid coming in

We don't need to sign someone for £3m, rising to £4.5m to do that do we though?

We could sign some * from Aberdeen to well in Scotland. We want to make inroads in Europe.

True. I have fait in Rodgers anyway and I suppose Lennon did it in the beginning.

The last part fair enough but he has played for 12 teams in his professional career - 12!

  18. * * has he?! Mercenary * :56: honestly had no idea it had been that many.

  19. Just looked and to be fair to him I think 8 have been loans and 6 whilst in the youth team at Chelsea. He has really only had 3 parent clubs at senior level, so not exactly a mercenary.
