Not really. Just said his first thought is about adding more pace and more goal threats, obviously Dembele is one of those types but by the sound of it he wants another. Sinclair fits the bill perfectly.

Looking at the centre half position as well.

More pace and goals sounds good to me.

I'm thinking we might get another striker.

I think you should prepare yourself for a less than perfect transfer window then. :smiley-laughing002: There's no way we'd go for both Sinclair and Dyer. It would be one or the other, assuming we are after either. And Allen is a pipe dream, no way we'd pay £8+ million for him. Unless Liverpool knock the price way down to get first dibs on Dembele in a few years, or something daft like that. I wouldn't exactly be upset to be wrong though.

It was this article below from the evening times i read that mate, sorry I know i made that sound like Brendan had done a pressy today or something, I'm losing track of all the Brendan related stuff i'm reading lately! :smiley-laughing002:

Brendan Rogers hopes Moussa Dembele will give Celtic goal hero Leigh Griffiths freedom to enjoy his football more at Parkhead.

The player of the season last campaign fired 40 goals for the Premiership champions as his strikes proved fundamental to the Glasgow club claiming their fifth title in a row.

French teen talent Dembele was unveiled in Glasgow yesterday after signing a four-year deal, and Rodgers, speaking from Celtic’s training camp in Maribor, hopes that the arrival of the former Fulham forward can relieve the pressure on Griff next season.

He said: “Leigh got 40 goals and the next one was Tom Rogic with about 10.

“I can see now why Leigh gets his goals. He’s a wonderful striker of the ball, with both feet, and he is aggressive and can finish.

“It’s him not having to feel he is the one relied on to get the goals. That can allow him to enjoy his football a bit more.

“[At Liverpool] we sometimes played with three or a diamond with Sturridge and Suarez up and Coutinho, Sterling in behind. You have to fit it around the players.

“We ended up playing a dynamic 3-4-3 for months but it depends on the players. We want to have that flexibility to change and cause opponents problems.

“You can be set up to be aggressive and press or to go away and counter attack. It’s up to me to allow them to do both.

“I knew he was a big talent. I want to try to get the best players I possibly can in to the football club. We needed more pace and goal threat in the team.

“Leigh got his 40-odd goals last season and he was the main threat for Celtic. I want to see that threat from a number of areas.”

Rodgers also revealed that he is keen to add one other striker to his lot for the new season, but admits he has been impressed with the likes of Ryan Christie during their first few days in Slovenia.

He added: “We’ll see what’s available.

“We’ve got some kids here who have impressed me, like young Christie. He’s a good mover and looks like he can score goals. When he gets a bit stronger he can do very well.

“He plays just around the corner off the striker. He’s a really bright player and it’s just a case of time to develop.

“We’ve got Leigh and Moussa and one or two others here to have a look at.

“I always look to shape the team front the front and then build in behind it. If you have two world class guys who can score goals then the rest slots in behind it.”

Celtic will face NK Celje tonight in what will be their first game in the Rodgers era.

It’s unlikely Dembele will feature in the game – he is expected to travel out today – but it hasn’t stopped his new manager getting excited at what he can bring to the table.

Celtic beat off stiff competition from England and abroad for the former PSG graduate, and Rodgers said: “Moussa’s a player on the way up. He’s a young boy but he’s already got experience. He’s done exceptionally well in an extremely tough league in the Championship.

“Fair play to his representatives. They want him to go to a club where he can develop and feel pressure while having the opportunity to improve as a player.

“There’s no greater opportunity than coming to Celtic to do that.”

Read the article wrong! Knew it was his missus, thought it said something about her being a single mum.

Point I meant to make, doesn't matter if he's on holiday. He'd fly back to sign I'm sure.

Another KDS exclusive:86: To be fair that guy has been quite good. Looking likely that we'll get Sinclair and Duffy.

    Just said this too.
