It's easy to dispute. Completely disputable. Hooper is better technically, no doubt. But Griffiths has other facets to his game that are above Hooper. He's probably quicker. Tries harder. Scores from nothing. Much better in the air. Not to mention the fact he's just obliterated Hoopers best goal tally here. It's not black and white.

He scores a variety of goals and works harder, aye. Every other aspect of the game, Hooper is better.

Much better hold up play, suits playing on his own or with a partner, more comfortable with the ball at his feet, better composure in front of goal, more clinical and he's smarter in terms of when to pass and who to pass to etc.

Don't get me wrong, Hooper got on my * at times and I wasn't gutted to see him go. But for me he's just a far better footballer than Griffiths.

I'm not saying you're right or wrong. I'm just pointing out that it's open to interpretation. I mean it really is impressive you have to say. Headers. Right foot, Left foot. Free kicks seem to be improving. Goals from dribbles too, tap ins.

Hooper has better hold up as you say and passing as you say. He was clinical too. More so than Griffiths but on the other hand Griffiths is just more dangerous. I think if you stop the supply you completely nullify Hooper. Same can't be said for Griff because he can do it himself.

    Decent point to make.

Some of the goals he scored last season he had no right to. A couple against Hearts spring to mind.

Anyway, I'd love to see them both in the same side. Would be really interesting to watch as well as * deadly.

That second goal against Malmö too. Hooper would never have scored that. On the other hand, One on one against Ajax, you'd back Hooper to score. Different players.

Kris Boyd would have been your man then back in the day if your that short sighted. :50:

Scored goals against the diddies and was pish at everything else.

Not that I'm comparing them as strikers before I get accused of doing, but simply just goals in a striker aren't everything, need much more than that to lead the line.

In my opinion, this would be a great signing if we could manage it. I personally think it would match, if not top the Dembele signing.

Since I read about his Championship season earlier I've been quite excited by the prospect. 27 goals man. That's incredible

Fancy changing the title so his name is spelled correctly?

Agreed. If he is at his best he'd be a brilliant signing for us. Offers pace and a goal threat either side. Hopefully he could recapture his Swansea form here.

If there is any manager in world football who can get him to recapture that form, it is Rodgers.

The more I think about this the more I am coming round to it as well, tbh. He has always struck me as your archetypal EPL footballer but if BR things he is the man to take us up a level he has my vote.

At 27 as well we could be getting him in his prime.

Goal he scored against Milan couple years ago pretty decent even if a friendly.

"Theres no debate" as if its a Larsson vs Balde debate. Griff's scored more at a faster rate and arguably with worse teammates and with better variety. Most of Griffiths goals in league play come from creating chances out of nothing. Most of Hoopers goal's came from tap-in's and net-mouth scrambles. Not knocking Hooper as I love the guy, but Griff is the better pure goal scorer easily imo. Guy just has an eye for the net and finds ways to put it in. Hooper did the same, but Griff's done it better.

Is this the same Guidetti that scored about 8 league goals in about 24 games? You're really boring me now.

Has Griffiths pumped your Mrs or something?

Is it ok that JG scored a goal against inter but failed against a number of SPL opponents? Your arguments are ridiculous and everyone can see you for what you are.

Hooper has scored goals against the higher standard of opposition throughout his career than Griff, goals in the English Championship, goals in the EPL and goals in Europe for us including CL goals and other important European ones. He also scored regularly against Oldco when they were a half decent outfit.

Until Griffiths does the same then Hooper will always be the better and more reliable goal scorer on the bigger occasion.
    What's that supposed to mean?:97:

Also, Guidetti is a better striker than Griff as well, he was flying until contract talks broke down and mentally he wasn't in the game anymore which is yes you can say is a poor attitude to have however it doesn't make him a worse striker/player than Griff. Lets not forget how everyone buzzed about Guidetti in the beginning, he's also just off the back of a season after scoring against the likes of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid as well chipping in with other LA Liga goals.

Whilst both Guidetti and Hooper are better strikers than Griffiths arguing about it is irrelevant because neither of them are here now. Let's hope Dembele can kick on with another striker added in due course who will do the same.:50:

I used to go and watch Birmingham quite frequently a couple of years ago, the days when they had Garry O Connor up front and Sinclair came on loan for a couple of months, was such an exciting player to watch had every * off their seats whenever he was on the ball for the time he was there, if we manage to sign him and Brendan can get him somewhere near to the level he can play at, we'll have some player on our hands :celt_2:
