I think you're right, but to be honest I've become disillusioned with money when it comes to the club. It doesn't seem to matter how much we bring in, we always spend the same on players, barring Edouard of course.

We could easily spend ten million on top of Edouard in this window and still be in a good position, and had that been invested prior to the tie against Athens, we would have access to substantially more. Just doesn't make sense to me

If we dont bring in two quality defenders before the window closes then i hope at the next A.G.M alot of people gives this * board a roasting and tell them to * off if they dont have any ambition for the club .

Yeah I get that, if the finances are as stretched as our inactivity in the transfer market suggests then any signings that we're spending over £2 million on have to be able to immediately challenge for a first team place.

We spunked £3 million plus * knows how much on top of that in wages on Kouassi and have had a handful of games out of him. Speculative buys/transfers like Morgan or Benyu I'm fine with as our outlay is pretty low but we're not using the budget we have as effectively as we should.

I'd rather sign noone than pay a rival this amount for someone who doesn't improve us at all. Unlike some, I believe that our defense, although poor, will still canter the league, but agree we'll get shredded in Europe. If we aren't going to bring in Euro level defenders be then i would rather we wait until Christmas and bring in players for the CL campaign.
An injury prone, possible project, which financially boosts a rival; where they gain and we take the risk, is pointless. Buy proper * defenders Celtic!!!

Celtic will go back with a bigger bid 100% then throw a player or two at them.

No interest in Bruma apparently so SCOTT * MCKENNA it is then!

    * knows how far down the list of targets McKenna must've been. If he was a real target he should've been bought at the start of the window. Absolutely reeks of a panic buy.
I'll be fuming if the bids get upped and this gets pushed through after what happened with Mcginn.

This is a * embarrassment. If we don't pull something off before the transfer window closes our attendances will plummet and 10 in a row is in proper danger.

£3.5m for Scott McKenna, what a waste of money.

Which tells you how bad a state our scouting is just now.

He found VVD, Forster and Wanyama granted but the amount of * we signed under him was brutal.

At least he actually scouted players though and tried having players lined up if someone moved on :giggle1:

Even £3.5m seems crazy, I'd hope there is no higher bid after that.

He's not even the type of player required. Big strong guy that lacks pace, which is useless when playing a high line.

Some of the guys still out of contract that folk have mentioned in the suggestions thread would seem a far better choice.

It really does reek of panic buy at this stage. Aberdeen will be well aware of our defensive situation and the fact our fans are frustrated with the board, so they'll hold out for absolute top dollar.

For me he's the kind of player I wouldn't mind taking a punt on of the right price, but we're talking about a figure around £1.5m. If he's the best defender we can find in the £4-5m category then it tells its own story.
