I’ve only seen McKenna for Aberdeen a few times, but all of his games for Scotland he’s been excellent.
He also captained the Scotland U21’s last year when they beat the Dutch, and along with Lewis Morgan was the best player on the pitch.
Guys like Jerry St Juste were rotten that night, and I’ve heard Celtic fans rave about him.
I know Brendan was at that game and spoke highly of McKenna.
It was also that game that convinced him to sign Morgan, after Tosh McKinley scouting him.
I don’t know how much Aberdeen want for Scott McKenna, but I’d put him in the same sort of bracket as John McGinn.
I definitely think he’d be better in a good team too.
For me the main thing, like a few guys have said, is we sign a left sided centre half, who I’d play with Ajer in the centre, and Boyata on the right. With Forrest and Tierney as wing backs.
Even when we’ve played a back 4 Tierney is pushed on and we’ve no cover behind him.

He's been dug meat any time I've watched him. Which admittedly isn't a lot. But still.

Was it him that needed an exorcism in Aberdeen's Scottish Cup semi? I remember one of the defenders being spectacularly awful.

Watched him the other night ,No more than decent ,looked a wee bit heavy legged and clumsy in possession, decent in the air but not wot I would call quality .

I'm amazed it's taken this long for us to be linked with him. Not totally convinced by him and Aberdeen would want too much IMO.

Hes a celtic fan, which helps when it comes to the times when you want your players to stick the foot in for the sake of the team.
Better than simonivic with re injuries and suspension, plus under rodgers * improve, hes came on loads in a short time.

I chalk this one up to us needing a defender and Aberdeen claiming he is worth £10m, the two things obviously go together if you are a sports journalist in this country. I would be very very surpised if there is anything in this as he isn't a ball playing defender and wouldn't fit in with our style, and that's ignoring the fact he isn't that great defensively.

We’ve got Stevie Woods as part of the Scotland set-up now which is a big deal if we are potentially looking at signing any of the squad.
He’ll know exactly how good McKenna is, and also if he’s a good sort. The same goes for John McGinn.
Scott McKenna is far from the finished article but every centre half we play on the left makes mistakes every single game they play.
Today it was Simunovic, - he was fecking giving away fouls almost on the left wing.
By all means press the game, but it is pure school boy stuff.
He got sent off a few weeks ago for a knee high challenge on the half way line(on the left hand side)
Today he also almost scored the worlds best og when he smashed the ball over the bar from the left hand side of the box.
I’m in the main stand, but * help us - we didn’t know if it was going in the top corner or in beside the Green Brigade.
He along with Boyata, Ajer, and Hendry are better in the centre or right centre half.

Guy has about 5 years on his contract (I actually think he * his career doing that) so Aberdeen won't sell him for less than £4m. If he was £2m I would say why not. I think for £4m we would be better getting a 28 year old with some experience. We already have Ajer and Hendry to bring through the ranks.

He is better than Hendry and would be an improvement on him but he is not good enough in my opinion and we should be looking at better quality than him.

Hobbled off with a hamstring injury.

    We’ll definitely sign him now.

His hamstring is torn. Unlucky for the lad. Don't think there was any real interest from us though.

Too late in the window to scout/identify any targets from outwith the SPL?

Not my initial idea of quality, but attracting a bit of interest. A tough competator and gave a decent showing vs Burnley.
