Miss the days when he couldn't get a look in with the quality we had in midfield.
I'd love just one of those players that kept him out. A top form kayal or ki under BR again. Nevermind vic and Joe.

    Different situation all together tho.

Rodgers actually had other players with a certain amount of quality that he was able to drop Gerrard.
I don't think it was until his last season that he started to get dropped.

Gerrard was 35 - prob knew it was coming

and he still ended up playing in over 40 games for Liverpool in his last season with them.

I would be very surprise if Brown wasn't a regular first team player this season - unfortanely

The only time I can ever remember him being kept out was the tail end of 3 in a row when Hartley and Robson formed a solid partnership and broony was way off it. That was due to personal problems I'm sure around the time he lost his sister I think? Other than that he's never been kept out the team.

I can remember Ledley being on the bench a few times in the big games under Lenny, never Brown though.

Christ, I'd kill to have Ledley over Brown right now.

We'll learn something about him after this, that's for sure

His back is against the wall. He's not had a good year, is getting pelters in the media and the fan base seems to be turning on him en masse

Either he'll find something within himself to turn things around, or he'll be finished for good as far as being a Celtic player

I honestly hope he gets back on track, because I like him

I'll never forget when he got in The Spitters face after scoring that goal :smiley-laughing002:

Not the first time that's happened to him. For some reason I think our fanbase has always been knobs when it comes to Broony

It happens at most clubs these days

Visit any other teams forum and I bet they are quick to turn on their own players after a bad spell too

It happens probably more now than it used to, most likely because the bond between player and supporter isn't as strong it used to be, due mostly to the players being so wealthy and detached from the regular supporter

Back in the day, supporters might be willing to have more patience as they felt more connected with a player and were more inclined to root for them, but players make so much money and are so far apart from the supporters of the clubs they play for that supporters are far less likely to cut a player some slack when he has a run of bad games

    I hope so

My only worry is his game is all about his energy and drive. If his body is beginning to give up due to age and injuries then the game might be up for him.

He has never been the best passer of a ball. That is not going to change overnight.
Some players reaching the end of their careers who have lost the energy and pace side of their game can adopt by using their technical ability and footballing brain.

Dunno if brown has enough of that in his locker to be able to continue playing at the standard we as fans demand.

    I hope i am wrong

In fairness, Brown has been here for years now. Closing in on a decade.

I just think some folk will never take to him, it's not just a knee * reaction for many. He's been one of my favourite players for years and I am only recently beginning to doubt him.

Just think the midfield is letting us down time and time again and he is part of it.

Have been a big fan of Brown, thought he was a brilliant leader and although a limited footballer he was the heartbeat of our team. The past 6 months and his performance on tuesday leave him with a lot of questions to answer. He will need to get back to form asap, or he could well be out of the team.

bare in mind he's only had one poor performance under rodgers. if he keeps it up like he has in the past 6 months then he will be dropped.

He's done, the performances of certain players in that semi final should have finished them here, brown is one of them
