    Hopefully Brown will now be able to get a good number of games under his belt.

    This injury, and given his past record, has made me consider his future at Celtic. It makes this season huge.

    Which is a good headache to have really. Better have a selection problem like this rather than what it could be.

    As per the norm really.

    Great to hear that Brown should be back for us. My immediate thought would be to let him come on as a sub on Saturday instead of starting and then save him fully for the Benfica game.

    I am not having a go here but i am curious to know fans opinions of Brown.....Usually when people are asked about Brown they say "were a better team with Brown" and "Brown brings something different to the team" etc. I just can't see why people would put him in before the like of Joe Ledley,Kayal and Wanyama because i know he features in alot a peoples strongest line up.So just what are his Key attributes and what exactly does he bring to the team that the before mentioned players don't ?

    He's not better than Wanyama, Kayal or Ledley but he's still a good player. He's our club captain too which would mean that our squad, especially considering the low average age, would all look up to and respect Brown which in turn brings a sense of structure and unity to the team.

    drive and determination/work rate are the obvious ones, but our other CMs arent really lacking in that department either. but he brings leadership and experience that the others dont have. he is the captain for a reason and is one of our few players with real CL experience and is a recognised international. it all adds up.

    Hes the player that sets the tempo for us too, by pushing up and closing down and getting players to react around him.

    Its why I thought we should have signed Johnny Russell as Brown's our only player that does that but Russell does it too and does it well in more advanced positions, so in any games Brown want playing we could have played Russell somewhere to make up for it. Commons and Hooper do it ok but tend to give up after chasing 1, Broony and Russell usually keep going until the opposition are forced into playing a long ball or we win the ball off them.

    I think teams with players like that usually do better than they sould because they unsettle the opposition.

    The huns lately usually always had a poor team but had Naismith and Miller who done it well.

    Martin O'Neill and Davie Moyes usually always have players like that in their teams too and get success in the big games from the work-rate.

    He's a all round good player with that bit of arrogance that believes he is as good a player as anyone he's up agianst.Scotlands midfield would have been hugely more effective had he been their on tuesday night.He also seems to have lost the habit of diving in and giving away free kicks and picking up silly bookings,we are lucky to have him;

    His arrogance is of vast importance to us. He's not afraid to stand up to anyone. I've heard a lot of players from other clubs who have said that Broon, out of our entire squad, even when we had Big Vic, was the one they were the most afraid of. I can't remember exactly who was saying that but it struck me as important. Broon is our loose cannon and raging bull on the pitch and we really need a player like that. Broon would never intentionally injurer another player. But I think that players are often worried about getting injured around him and thus perhaps don't play with all cylinders fired up for that reason.

    Good points there....however....in Europe, that can always be a worry against the professional divers. Still, an aggressive captain, midfielder etc can ey make a difference. MON's teams had that grit too. So has Lenny.

    Anyone else worried that Broony may never be the same player again because of this hip condition?
