  1. Well RD seems to think it is ..
I am very sure other players are being talked/looked at as well. :50:

Yes we all now that club died mate , however the scummy fans migrated and ripping the pish is a bonus that most are not going to miss out on.

Do we need another LB and a striker yes, imo, however Im not the manager and he will live or die by his decisions.

  2. Let's see how much his decision is respected to bring Allan in if we lose or draw today, or even worse, if we lose on Wednesday.

I guarantee that the good fun aspect of him signing will disappear quickly if we're faced with no Champions League football.

  3. Some right wee negative nancys in here!!

  4. Still convinced many of the nay sayers didn't watch much of Hibs on tv or the highlights last season .

  5. Not a player i would have signed if im honest, think our defence needs more work and is much more urgent......but anyway.

  6. I aint saying it wont disappear. Just saying, stop being a moany * :smiley-laughing002:

ps we wont lose either and will win both :50:

  7. Nope, just some realists who aren't all that concerned with sticking it to Sevco.

When you strip all of that nonsense away we've signed a 24 year old midfielder who flopped in both the Championship and League One down south before returning to play in the Scottish 2nd tier.

Add that to the fact that midfield is undoubtedly our strongest position and you really have to wonder what the * is going on, do you not?

All the while this is happening we're getting closer and closer to the tie that will make or break our season financially and there's been not a whisper about a striker who has the proven pedigree to play at that level.

We're heading into our final Champions League qualifier with Leigh Griffiths, who tries as much as he can, but isn't at that level, and a guy we bought from Dundee United who's not kicked a ball in the league because he bit some *.

No one gives a * about any of that though, because we've managed to get one-up on a club that everyone here is always quick to stress they couldn't care less about.

  8. Hard to argue with any of that.

I'm quite happy we've got this over the line and I think he has potential. But it's very concerning how little we seem to be trying to sign a quality striker.

  9. Regardless of this signing, he will take a lot of criticism if we go lose on Wednesday. In that respect this changes nothing.

Think people are losing track of this a bit. It doesn't make or break us in the slightest. The money involved is tiny and the risk pretty minimal.

Regarding the CL quality striker some folk are asking for - honestly have we ever signed a striker who has proven himself consistently in the CL? It would be great to have but it's * unlikely we'll find one within our price range.

  10. We are never going to sign a striker who's proven in Europe. Just not going to happen.

  11. And it's not the signing of Allan that I'm primarily concerned with, it's the lack of signings elsewhere, and the fact that none of this is being recognised by the fans due to them being given a wee chance to snigger and point at Sevco.

If the Allan signing hadn't even been suggested in the first place there'd be some serious anger going into these games with Malmo in the chip that we're in, but like a drooling four year old who's been distracted with a shiny new ball our support are happily tuning into football phone-ins to listen to Derek Johnstone and Hugh Keevins and making fake accounts on Sevco forums to * themselves silly over the anger the huns are feeling, all the while * all is done to actually improve the areas of our squad that need improving.

Is this going to be another scenario where we start bringing players in after we get papped out of the Champions League?

  12. Seems a bit of a panto signing.

The lads here, so best of luck to him, but I don't see him getting much game time. Would far rather his wages had gone towards another signing.

For me, it goes straight into the '*' category!

    Not impressed...

    He favourited this on Twitter.

  13. On your last point, I really hope not but I wouldn't be shocked.

It's easy to say and it's been said before, but we need to start signing these higher calibre of players before the qualifiers to ensure we get to the CL. If we had a very good striker right now, I'd be confident of easily beating Malmo over two legs.

As it stands, while I'm still confident we'll get through, it's a very tricky tie.

  14. I'm not looking for a guy who's finished as top scorer in the Champions League, just someone who at least looks to be a step above what we have.

Last summer we brought in Guidetti after the Champions League campaign was dead in the water, for example.

  15. I don't think hes a panto signing...he has an ability for a pass, something we need and should have in the team.

Hopefully the bhoy will prove himself, he has taken a life changing decision and we should get behind him,he may not be a signing we wanted but I believ he can change our minds, we will hopefully have a couple of CL players before the end of the window...no one will be interested just now as we aint there yet.

We have wasted so much in 3 years Bangura/Pukki/Balde and look at the wages and fees there....this guy is a snip, and if it goes wrong its not as bad as the others regarding money.

I hope he proves many people wrong here

  16. Agreed. We have actually gone out and spent decent money on strikers, even signing some reasonably big names, but for whatever reason they haven't worked out.
It's all well and good saying we want a CL calibre striker, the problem is we don't have the budget to bring in someone proven at that level.

  17. So the answer is to just go with Ciftci up front on his own, and bring Griffiths on if we look like getting papped out?

  18. We've signed him to bring his qualities to the team, not because them * wanted him or any other reason. Welcome to the club Scott.
