I think Allan is a good player but not sure if he's better than Henderson. If we do sign him I think it could result in Henderson going out on loan , possibly to hibs. I hope if Henderson does go out on loan again it's to a team where he plays every week.

 

I would be for this.
Scott Allan is Quality. He would add class and finesse to our midfield.
It would not hinder Henderson's developement either IMO. It would add competition, with Armstrong maybe dropping deeper back this year.

 

I really hope there's nothing in this.

Celtic should be looking to improve in order to progress in Europe. Signing players like Scott Allan is no improvement on what we've already got, never mind the improvement needed to take Celtic into the Champions League.

 

Definitely some truth to this in that we are interested in him. If it comes down to money then he'll be a Celtic player, plus the fact Hibs will be reluctant to sell to Rangers. Only thing that could sway Hibs to sell to them is if he pushes for it seeing as he's a massive RFC supporter.

 

Mackay-Steven wasn't an improvement on what we had until he was.

Sorry, I don't really understand what you mean.

Despite a start to his Celtic career which has been a pleasant surprise, I'm still not entirely convinced that Mackay-Steven is what Celtic need to progress in Europe- but I'd imagine that's for a different thread.

 

Mackay-Steven wasn't any better than what we had in many people's books before he signed but he's been a breath of fresh air. In fact, I personally think he's one of the best players at the club and that he'll play a big part in our qualifying for the Champions League this season.

Who are these players that are going to take us to the next level in Europe? We can't consistently sign players that're as good as the top players at the likes of Red Bull Salzburg or Ajax (the clubs at the level above us). We have to take risks - sign players from unfashionable leagues or clubs, take a chance on players whose careers have stalled and develop our own players. Allan is much like Boyata in that he had a promising start to his career and it hasn't work out because he went to the wrong club. I really think a lot of people aren't keen on signing him simply because he's playing for Hibernian.

 

I've seen a lot of him. I'd be confident of him doing well here. You can quote me on that.
