Some really harsh comments on this towards Scott Allan :smiley-laughing002::smiley-laughing002: To those who cant see past the fact that this guy was brought up a Rangers fan and the fact he wanted to play for his boyhood club then i say to you that you are no better than that h*n lot who think along the lines of the 'unspoken requirements to play for the club'. If Allan gives 100% to Celtic then it doesnt matter what club he supports. Also for those who dont think he has the abilty to be in this current Celtic team - Have some faith in you managers decsion making for crying out loud!! He is obv not doing this for * and giggles :smiley-laughing002: The majority of you back Deila when it comes to football on the pitch and also have backed his signings from Jan onwards, so why should this be any diffrent? By the looks of things this deal is 95% done so lets stop focusing on the negative and wish this guy well :celt_2::shamrock:

He'll get my backing if he comes. I can only think Ronny is thinking about squad rotation and SA will play on the Saturday/Sunday, if we're playing in Europe during the week.

    Better than Rogic? Debatable.

He's probably a level above McGregor, granted.

I agree with this, especially the age thing - remember lubo!

However i don't think mcgeoch can really be described as "deadwood" won't get near the team but hardly taking a high wage and can still be considered a development talent. Derk boerigter is deadwood and probably on about 10-15K aswell!!

a lot of peoples objections seem to be that because hes 24, hes too old (isnt he actually 23 though?)

and that he isnt an improvement on the options we already have

    hhhhmmm.

ciftci, 23. not exactly an improvement on griff.

    just sayin'

Apart from two games recently we have very little evidence to suggest he isn't better than Rogic.

Ok... for those still questioning reasoning behind my own and others about the validity of this move. Here are points.

    1. No hope of challenging for a 1st team spot.
    2. Championship success rarely translates to top tier success.
    3. Why loan henderson and sign allan if henderson has a potential future here, why sign allan at all. Its not as if his spot needs filled while hes on loan.
    4. Loaning henderson to hibs as part of this deal is a step down from his last loan.
    5. Allan is probably the most overrated "youngster" since flêckildihio.
    6. The weekly wage reported for allan has been between 7k-10k. Joke.
    7. Why has this transfer been suddenly revived out of nowhere?
    8. Hibs (hilariously) valued him at 1M to deter newco. We are pricing dylan at just under 500k. Plus the 300k for allan. Plus a loan. Are we matching an unreal evaluation or competing with 2nd tier teams for second tier players?
    9. His transfer request (engineered by agents or otherwise) proved his determination to bite the hands that "revived" his dogshit career in englands pub leagues.
    10. Rotheram... rotheram wouldnt offer over 450k for him... why are we paying the guts of 900k?

These are valid concerns for any football supporter of any persuasion

This deal stinks to high heaven.

I personally think Rogic has more talent, and is also more of a presence in the middle of the park overall.

He also comes from a futsal background, which means his close control is excellent and he's very good with the ball at his feet.

I'm not writing off Allan though. I'm not against him coming here, regardless of his past leanings.

At £275k, I see this as a low risk signing that could potentially work out well.

I like Rogic too and he very well could turn into a better player than Allan, but right now he isn't, IMO.

Allan has more experience of the game here and is more ready to make an instant impact.

Rogic will still take a while to get up to speed again, think that was evident on Wednesday night.

That's the worse. The guy threw his team into disrepute to force a transfer to a league rival. Surely all the bullshit surrounding that and forcing Hibernian to bench him is part of what cause the pathetic defeats to sevco and Dumbarton. He is not just an average player. He seems to be a seriously unprofessional and unethical player

Rogic has experienced international football though and is younger than him. What Allan has proven over Rogic is he can play a full season.

I'd be thinking they are players in the same bracket though, rather than him challenging Johansen or Commons in the team or if playing further back, Brown or Bitton.

One thing we can surely both agree on, is that neither of them should be coming into the team ahead of a fit Commons/Johansen.

He's played 7 times for Australia and is a year younger, aye. Doesn't make much difference though.

They probably will be vying with one another but I still think Allan is the better option currently.

He was really highly rated at United before he went down south. At 23 there is still potential there and shouldn't be sniffed at.

9 times for Australia but you're probably right.

I still think it's a weird move though.

Anyone know any former winners of the Scottish Championship/1st Division POTY?
