If he wanted to be at Ibrox he'd just wait till January and sign a contract with them. He could knock us back he doesn't have to come. Hibs will either have to accept the bid from the Zombies this window or next or he'll go for free and they lose out on money.

Nobody is putting a gun to his head telling him to go to Celtic. The big bucks and the chance to win some trophies and possible feature in European football at least down the line anyway will be what has persuaded him.

If this boy thinks he's going to be coming in here with an attitude/ego, I can't wait to hear about his initiation and his first training session with Broony :smiley-laughing002:

Who said that we are replacing Bitton and Johansen?:97:

    Utter nonsense.

Allan will be a decent squad player. He's better than McGeouch and McGregor and Henderson gets another season of first team football to develop.

I have no problem with this. The fact it really, REALLY annoys the Huns is a bonus.

Actually this current Rosenberg aren't much better than Aberdeen. The sheep would give them a challenge no doubt.

I don't know why the huns are delighted at this after 3 years and many many more millions for us were still going after the same * players.

Says a lot about this * board that some praise like a *. We shouldn't even be considering players that they want at this point.

    Agreed.

This move makes no * sense whatsoever.

He would/might be a good player for sevco. But that proves many points. Carting off a player with real potential who has real professional goals in return for a player who tried to force a move from one 2nd tier team to another 2nd tier team displays a real lack of ambition on our part.

    Calm you're * * man.

We sign a youngish scottish talent for a pittance and all of a sudden it's because our POTY or our (arguably) best player (Bitton) are leaving. Come off it.

Gotta be honest, I don't rate Liam Henderson as highly as some people on here appear to. I still think he has a fair bit of developing to do. A season on loan at Hibs could actually be really good for him I think.

Folk are getting overly upset about this. He's he same type of signing as Armstrong and Mackay-Steven surely? That's our policy now, to sign these types of players.

This is a good move for Hendersen. He'll walk into that Hibs team and instantly make it better. It's a great chance to continue his development. Sure, he could do a shift for us this season, but he needs 30+ games with full 90 minutes and he'll get that at Hibs.

    Rangers had their chances

Hibs should grasp that the minor blip that was the McCoist/Green era is over and normal service is being resumed.
Talking of Mr McCoist, it’s important to remember his role in all of this. Back when Allan burst onto the scene at Dundee United there was a lot of speculation in the press that Rangers might want to make an offer.
McCoist even commented “In terms of talent for the future, he’s right up there with anything in the country” and stated that the club wanted to speak to the player about a 400k move.

t’s utterly galling then that a mere 2 years later, McCoist chose to ignore the option of signing the player for free and instead renewed the deal of Kyle Hutton, a player who in signing for Queen of the South has now found his level.
It’s just another example of the haphazard, strategy-free approach of a man who still has the gall to take an enormous weekly salary from the club he claims to love.
As for the player himself, I can understand his desire to look after his family and secure a big money move.

It shouldn't be. One or two, yes, but consistently? Naw, that's how we turn average as *.

Yes many times. And Henderson is average. He'll never make it here, never impressed me.

Maybe going out on loan and getting experience somewhere else may help. doubt it though.

Lot's of people looking at the face value of this signing and jumping to extreme negative conclusions because of:

    - championship player
    - we have lots of midfielders
    - "too old" at 24
    - Henderson is better staying here than having him

Do you think Deila has somehow missed all this and thought "* it, a players a player at the end of the day and it will get it round the huns a bit"?

Of course not. Not every signing absolutely has to look perfect from the outside. Deila knows the full picture and is obviously very intelligent. Maybe he knows that one or two of our important midfielders will move on relatively soon? Maybe he thinks he is genuine enough quality to improve our team in the coming years with development.

Deila has explicitly stated that he wants to have a smaller focused squad, so I don't see why he would just float around the lower divisions in Scotland frittering away 275K unless there was a very decent reason for doing so.

As usual, elements of TC have come to a cold hard conclusion before he even kicks a ball from us.

I've never once paid any attention to Scott Allan, I don't know how he plays and what he will bring to improve our team. But you wish the lad well and start commenting on him when he's actually kicked a ball for us over a number of games.

Always the * same on here with some.

So you don't want the board to back the managers judgement then ...

Aye it says the board have backed RD , that is what we all want is it not or are you saying the board should over rule him ..
