The guy isn’t even half as bad as some people on here are trying to make out. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think he is as good as doctor obsessed is trying to make out and he certainly isn’t going to walk into our team but he is a different kind of player to all of our CM’s in the sense that he can spot that pass that splits tight defence’s and will be a good option to have when we our finding it hard to break teams down.

People saying they want hendo to have the games allan would get for us don’t seem to be looking at the big picture. If hendo is here for the season, he’s probably looking at starting 10-15 games with maybe another 10-15 sub appearances on top of that. That’s not going to help him develop. Playing 30-40 games (even in the championship), will help his development.

Getting a useful squad player who ronny can improve, getting rid of a player who is not going to cut it here (mc geouch) and getting a better and more experienced hendo back at the end of the season…..all for about £300k, that represents a fairly good piece of business.

And if you’re that way inclined you can even take comfort in the fact that were making Hibs a tougher challenge for the rangers to overcome, as well as taking away a player they have been begging to sign for them. Although to be honest, I couldn’t care less about this.

The fact that he’s a hun shouldn’t really come in to the equation. He wouldn’t be the first to play for us and he probably wouldn’t be the last either. Broony reportedly was, and look at him now. If allan came here and was even half as committed to us as broony is, why does it matter who he grew up supporting?

I don’t think its necessarily a signing we need right now, but if mc geouch and hendo aren’t in the squad this season, then we may need allan as cover and to keep other players competing for places although if we don’t sign a LB and a striker as well, then I’ll be disappointed. But we also need to think long term, we could lose bitton and johansen over the next couple of seasons and commons doesn’t have long left either. At least with allan in the squad we could have someone that could take up any of these slots if/when they do leave.

I think I would prefer he didn't go out on loan ,there will be many opportunities for first team football this season ,especially if we make the Champions League group stage, even if we don't,there will be games we have tied up at half time allowing him to come on
He will improve 10 fold under the Ronny regime and could be a great player next season.

The question for me is he better than Brown, Bitton, Commons, Johansen and Armstrong? Because you've got to reckon that is who he's competing with.

read that back to yourself Sevhuns or celtic. :56: Why stay at hibs to go back to the team that finished below you in the league

I know he may be a rangers fan but his career and development are more important we are the finished article whereas rangers will be another 2-3years before they get back to where they used to be

No, he is currently NOT better than any of those, but I suppose Collins sees potential there for him.

I trust the management team's judgement on this :50:

He's being brought in with the eventual departure of Bitton or Johansen in mind.

Not now, but he may be after a season or two under Ronny and that fits in with the Celtic signing policy ,it's a small risk , £275k, with a potential high reward.

Some of them might not be here this season if we don't make the CL. Which is why we need to sign some genuine quality, not a guy who might get a game next year.

Armstrong and Commons have injuries, Brown is being rested. One or two others might be battling through the games as well, so a boost in midfield is good.

Maybe the media try and create this impression that it's a dream move, Rangers are back, etc. It's ending up costing 275k in cash. So Henderson going out on loan and McGeough being used as a make weight that's two out and one in.

    Squad's a bit lighter.

Well put it this way Shendrie boy, if I was a player in Allan's situation, and the roles were reversed (Celtic and Sevco swapping positons) would I sign for Sevco because I can grow as a player at the top club in the country getting a possible shot at CL fitba, or wait another year to playfor my boyhood team who are odds-on favourites to come backup, knowing they MIGHT believe they can be successfull and knowing I could potentially play part in that success?

No chamce in * would I sign for sevco, I'd be biding my time at Hibs until I could play for Celtic.

Bittons champions league displays this season will put him as a 10million player next year and johansen is always suited to the german league and again good displays in champions league will have him in the shop window

which is why i think champions league is so important to get our players in the shop window

my main concern would be keeping hold of ronny as i am really excited by the transformation and philosophy

Thats why robbie keane and roy keane started their careers at celtic
Even henrik said he had unfinished business when he left to go to barca/man united before returning home to sweden

Celtic is the best option for player development at this current time regardless of allegiances

Thats the same as me. Cant see many negatives if he isnt good enough we sell him on next season for more than we paid for him
