Ive never heard that in my life.....the manager had to get at him to score more!!! Really? Well clearly it didnt work!!! He has scored 2 goals in his Hibs career.

Never in my life as a wean, or playing for the school or the scouts or later with my mates or in any sphere of the game have i heard a case of someone who prefers to set up goals more than score them.
Even * goalies prefer scoring to setting up goals!

Sure, he enjoys setting up goals....but not at the expense of scoring them!!!
In his position, he should score 10 a year....but his total goals in his career is dreadful.
The wee clip looks ok, but that is his job, crossing the odd good cross, slipping the odd wee pass onto a running teammate, but that isnt enough!
If that 3 minute clip including multiple replays of the same cross/pass is the sum total of his contribution to Hibs last year, then im sorry, but overall....he is *!

Ohhh. how exciting. Possible Champions League group stages this season and we are looking at a Hun from the * Championship. Never mind that we lack a decent European class striker and the defense is *. Lets just bring Scott Allan to noise up the Huns.

I'm just quoting what I remember reading in the football papers last season. Is it really so unbelievable that a player could take pride in their ability to play a killer pass and maybe do that most of the time? Did you see the Scottish Cup semi game between Hibs and Falkirk? Sums up Hibs season, incidentally. Hibs dominated the entire match pretty much but lost 1-0, point is though, Allan was rampant, he was splitting their defence sideways then tried to get a goal himself, made a brilliant, mazy run, nut megged a defender on the edge of the area, run into the box and got a nice but rising shot away, it came of the bar, lol...but the point is, he is at his best when he's setting folk up, be it from CM or CAM.

I think that if he does sign, he will moulded into the role that Kris Commons plays when he is in the team. We were coasting with Commons and his passing against Kilmarnock, and when he got injured we had no natural replacement.

I am still totally and utterly convinced this wee guy will end up at the Zombies. I am a cynical * by nature and in my minds eye can see him outside mordor giving it the big "no way would I play for them"

Maybe its the hunlike appearance or something for more primal but I don't trust the boy. Would hate the club to be made look stupid by a very ordinary player.

He's not as good as what we have, but I think, with the proper coaching and nurturing, he would be a good back up and could do a job when we need to rest people.

For that money, the chance to * off the Huns and a decent back up squad player... Why not take the punt? We've nothing to lose (in terms of money) really.

I actually just replied without reading this thread...

Can someone tell me why we think we're going to sign him, please?

By your own admission you've only seen him once. I haven't seen him at all so stating that he's * is more than a bit * stupid.

RD must see something in him that he does not see in Dylan, who was never going to make it here, so for the peanuts being paid I would agree it looks like a decent if uninspiring purchase.

He's got an obvious eye for a pass and could become a talent here.

Getting McGeouch off the wages and sending McGregor and/or Henderson off on loan to hibs will be fantastic for all. I would ideally want both Henderson and McGregor to go out on loan to be honest.

Henderson needs game time. Both he and McGregor would make hibs a force. They'll get a lot of game time. Win win.

Allan could be groomed to be Commons replacement.

For the money involved and some young players of our own are getting decent game time, it's worth the risk.

What are you on about mate? If we're buying a player from a league that is as poor quality as that, they should be able to carry teams in it.

For the money that's being mentioned plus a player no where near the first team then this is a steal! The last home game in the champions league shows that we need a player with an eye for a forward defence cutting pass. Might not be an instant starter now but look at biton and rogic who'd have thought this time last year they would be where they are now! Fact it gets one over on the huns is just a bonus! :56:

Why not. Could use him against the * teams to rest good players for our champions league assault.
