Lack of fitness holds him back I think from anyone ever really starting him as he seems to be like Paddy McCourt, good to watch but doesnt look fit and hasnt got the engine to work on and off the ball.

Stuck in the middle of maybe being too good for an Aberdeen but also not capable of playing for a team who are better than that as the rest of his game is missing.

    Best of luck to him.

I still think he could be a player for us,would rather let others go before him,but whatever; Brendan knows best.

Not good enough for Celtic by some way. I think he'll end up at the Huns one day, purely because they'll want to wind us up and he's a cheap option.

Until then, best of luck to him.

I almost made a point about him not running around enough, but I thought it sounded a bit primitive :smiley-laughing002:

He gives the impression that he's either not capable of doing the required running, or just doesn't fancy it. I think he'll find it tough going in the Championship for that reason.

His positioning is horrendous for a pro-footballer too. I think part of the problem with his movement is he literally doesn't know where he should be when his side have the ball.

He's obviously not impressed Rodgers in training - as shown by his lack of game time this pre-season.

If the management deem him surplus to requirements for them, I'll accept their decision.

If he leaves - like every other player who leaves the club - I will continue to not care less about where he/they end up.

Aye, I said the same before he signed. At Hibs he done all his work on the ball, when he got the ball he ran with it and tried to make things happen but off the ball he took a breather and never ran to chase back or anything. You can get away with that at teams like Hibs as he for them is a very good link up player who is creative and a talisman but for Celtic he is not better than players like Johansen, Commons, Henderson, Roberts, Stokes etc and he can't put in the workrate they can.

Its probably not his own fault either, might be to do with his diabetes that hes incapable of getting that fit im not sure how it works although Danny McGrain was the same and would be one of the fittest to wear the Hoops but obviously theyre genetically different. Allan looks a natural chubby build.

The only time I noticed that was the second half against Barca. He was brought on to play in the holding role, but just kept drifting.

That game summed him up. Drifted around, showed some lovely touches and passes, but never really impacted on the game.

I can tell you that particular claim is a lot of *. I saw him up close a few weeks back up in Bothwell main street, walked right by him.......in now way does he look "chubby" or "potentially chubby".

He reminds me of a Football Manager player when you would go into the lower leagues and one player would have 18 passing but * at everything else :smiley-laughing002:

You mentioned Paddy McCourt earlier. With him it was a combination of lack of fitness and a bit of a flake mentality. Might well be the same for Allan.

You can just imagine them both floating through the youth teams, bossing games. Maybe they just didn't/don't fancy the rigours of professional football.

Rogic is comfortably better and even Rogic isn't guaranteed a starting spot under Rodgers so this move makes sense for all parties.

Off topic, but Stubbs is also apparently on the verge of signing Kelvin Wilson.

I think it's clear he was brought here only to stop him going to Sevco.

Couldn't even get a game under Deila!

Was worth taking the chance on him as he was only about £300k, we'd probably get double or triple that if he does well at Rotherham.

    Extremely disappointed.

Makes Brendan look slightly silly now after his comments a few weeks ago.

I've also been impressed anytime I've seen him, I doubt he'll recover from this tbh but good luck to him was never given a proper chance and a run of games unlike constant under performers Johansen, Armstrong and Brown last season.

Will be a reason for that though, a lot of players have never really had a run of games for us and you just have to think they must not be up to it Cole, Scepovic, Bangura, Ciftci, Pukki, Balde, Murphy, Killen, Rasmussen, Ljungberg Allan, McCourt, McGinn, Flood, Ibrahim, Mizuno, Blackett, Blackman, Doumbe, Hooiveld.

If you look to what they done since leaving then it becomes quite obvious why they were never given a run in the team. We've never not given a chance to someone who has then left and proven to be good.

There's often a reason players aren't given a run. It's especially concerning when it happens under more than one manager.
