He put some nice balls into the box in the little playing time he had last season. If you only recall him having one good game for Hibs then I would suggest you weren't watching Hibs very often around the time he was there. He was the best and most creative player in their team, hence the reason Sevco and us were after him.

I didn't watch today's match so I can't speak to his passing today but all I will say is that today was our second pre-season friendly so I wouldn't read too much into the performance of any of our players. They are still at the building up fitness stage and they will also be trying to adapt to the new ideas that Brendan Rodgers has brought with him.

My opinion on Allan's overall worth as a player actually isn't that different to your own. Like you, I think his ceiling is lower than that of Tom Rogic and Ryan Christie but Allan is a decent option to have in the squad and his style of play should fit in well with the type of football Brendan Rodgers likes to play. Give the boy a chance.

Can't believe this hasn't been bumped, he was terrific in that second half. His passing and his drop of the shoulder to get away from opposition was terrific to watch, some lovely turns and passes. Should definitely be getting more games.

Had a couple slack passes but one of them he tracked back superbly for and made the tackle.

I think Brendan may have found his Scottish Joe Allen :icon_mrgreen:.

Allan was more impressive today than Armstrong I felt, in saying that Armstrongs tackle to start the attack for McGregors goal was top class.

Looked class at Hibs, looks class any time he gets game time, never starts. Don't understand it. Hopefully gets a run in the team.

Allan is a delightful player who has a whole repertoire of tricks in his game and his range of passing and vision is superb. He is a first team starter for me.

He has come a long way since Rosshall Academy.

They were both good. I just think we looked more dynamic with those 2

Will be so interesting to see Brendans team on Wed. Will he revert to tried and not so trusted or will he give some of the talented fringe players a chance?

Why not ? Rodgers can't trust some so he's going to start to need to put faith in the others

Totally agree. I thought Allan was excellent - a few tremendous passes today. That's something we don't see these days. We've got some runners and dribblers - but Allan gives us a different weapon - defence splitting pass.

I think the lad is a genuine talent and potential top player.

I see Allan as a extremely talented lad thats maybe * away too many crucial years to properly iron out his game and become a top player, he's perhaps at a stage a lot of players with his ability would be at 4-5 years ago. But then again he's only a year older than Rogic and has a decent amount more competitive starts under his belt.

Hopefully his development will accelerate as he's 25 this season. Was impressive today, I'm cautiously optimistic.

This is what I think we'll need on Wednesday because they are going to park the bus and we need all the different types of attacking options possible.

We need to find a way to drag them out of position as much as possible to unsettle them and Allan can do that with his passing ability. Even them just coming out to close him down will leave space we can exploit.
