5 years younger, arguably more experienced, certainly more of an athlete and I think I'm right in saying he already has more honours than Allan.

Why is it every time a players age is mentioned who is in their mid 20's they are too old. At 25 he could still play for the next 7 years at least.

Anyway, back on topic, whenever Christie, Allen and Tierney have been playing they have linked up very well. I'd like to see him being given a proper chance.

I think he's got the potential to be quality. Every little cameo he's had i've always thought he looked good.

Some of the players Rodgers has had the chance to look at, have already been told they can go.

Others have been identified as suitable subjects to be sent out on loan. Scott Allan, who ex-Celtic regular Gary Caldwell wanted to take down on a season-long loan to Wigan Athletic, is not one of them.

“Scott will definitely stay,” said Rodgers.

“I really like what I’ve seen with him. It’s trying to give him good tactical understanding of the game. He is mobile, he can run and he can press. Hopefully this can be a good season for him.”

From the Sunday Post. More in there that has already been discussed on the Commons thread. https://www.sundaypost.com/sport/fo...-rodgers-lays-law-kris-commons-celtic-future/

Really looking forward to seeing how he gets on under Rodgers, I think Allan will play a part for us.

Read Brendans comments earlier, I think with a run in the team he could do really well,I wonder which players Brendan has told they can leave

I'd keep gms he was tearing inter a new * until we lost a man. Can't say I disagree with any others.

He done nothing last year at all. One good game over 18 months isn't worthy off keeping him. With Roberts and new left winger joining sometime. Can't see him getting any game time.

I wouldn't be upset if he left tbh just can be useful on his day.

I don't think it's confidence, more hope. The guy has ability but hasn't had a run of 3 games in a row. It would be ridiculous to write him off without giving him a proper chance.

struggling to see where he fits in.i know rogic and johansens futures are uncertain bit cant see us letting both go.think both have a big part to play under rodgers hopefully johansen can get his first season form again.

johansen rogic brown with biton armstrong henderson as back up or any combination of the six.

if one of that six are sold then i can see him as maybe a backup option nothing else.the only one he might a have a chance of moving is maybe armstrong.for me armstrongs the much better player, played at a higher level and a couple year younger than allan.henderson has too much potential to let go.honestly think allan will be off,we could probaly get our half mill back too.i reckon commons will be out the door as well.could be wrong though cause if a good bid comes in for johansen, rogic, biton theres a good chance board will take it.losing one of that three wouldnt be a huge loss, rogic is the one i hope we keep as i love watching him play, his goals are crackers too.

think allan was a really pointless signing from the get go as our midfield was packed and i dint see anything special in him.think rodgers is just blowing hot air with this one.

i cant see wot the big deal is with henderson ,i thought before his loan move there was something there ,but watching him at hibs i felt really frustrated by his play ,he is lightweight and not strong in possesion ,he is not the best passer either ,maybe he has been trying to hard ,but he has disapointed for me ,in the recent friendly he was the worst for giving the ball away ,im i the only one who thinks this ,i want him to do well and hope he shines when played .

Personally Henderson is not good enough for us at the moment. I'd sell him cheap to hibs with a buy back clause once he's reached the level we need in a few years time.

another year loan would do him the world of good.even to a spl side a step up instead of hibs.

Another player who we are unable to make any sort of real assessment of, as he was played out of position by Ronny in his never changing system..

However Ronny did sign him so you would have thought he would have given him every chance to play, so maybe he didn't show enough in training or he doesn't have enough ability..

I trust Brendan to make a fair assessment of our abundant midfielders and Scott Allan, like everyone, will need to work hard to even get a chance.
