if he is going to be played out on the left he will turn into the next stuart armstrong, so many players within our squad are not realising there full potential.

aye his corners were as bad as armstrongs. We are just dreadful at set pieces.

We had the chance to gazump Sevco for that Michael O'Halloran and we didn't.
O'Halloran is a natural left winger with pace to burn.
As regards Allan, can't judge him out on the wing, as he is a natural central midfielder, and agree he would be good just behind the striker.

:smiley-laughing002: never change Venglos! The worst thing about it is that you are probably serious with your hard on for SPL players!! Do you not think a certain Aiden McGeady has his name on that position if we show some balls?

Jock Stein loved the home grown players Oggy :smiley-laughing002:
A lot of these foreign players are flash fandangos, don't know or care what it is to play for Celtic, look at Johansen.
Don't fancy McGeady myself, one trick pony.

I actually agree with you in regards to home grown players. Give me a Barry Robson any day. The thing is though that we need to get quality in the door and I just dont think there is enough in the SPFL to poach.

To be fair, most of the times he's come on and Impressed it's been on the left.

He just didn't have a good game, it happens.

The thing with home grown players is they don't cost too much, but they know the mentality of Glasgow and the expectations of our supporters.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the Lisbon Lions were all home grown players.

He done alright and was no worse than Armstrong but I was disappointed to not see him step up. It's almost like all the guile was coached out of him.

Indeed but that was half a century ago. I agree that we need homegrown players but they have to be good enough first of all. To add quality we need to look everywhere.

He only looks good as a sub. Full of energy against a weakened team
Play him from the start and hes no better than Armstrong.

Ill cut him some slack since we went down to 10 men, giving him one less passing option, but he has yet to prove himself in my eyes.

I think he has fallen into the hype of what people expect him to be, but the reality is quite different. Ciftci, cole and Christie are also in this catagory. I hope patrick roberts lives up to his name

The first thing I would do is offer Forrest more money. Then tie up Mulgrew. Then tie up Stokes. Then look to play this:

    Gordon

    Lustig Boyata Scvichenko Tierney

    Bitton
    Brown Johanson
    Commons

    Griff Stokes

We dont even need to add quality just get the team organised and playing properly. We have Forrest, Allan, Charlie, Hendo and loads others that could come in and do a job.

He wasn't great tonight but he still managed to play 2 or 3 more incisive passes than the rest of the midfield.

What specifically was McGeady's one trick, out of interest? Was it his 37 goals, 83 assists or was it something else?

Aye but mate you're forgetting his logic I mean it's like O'Halloran will no doubt be a £15 million player next summer which will fund a fight back as Celtic crumble and finish fourth behind sevco Aberdeen and hearts! Panic! All because of a 1-1 with Hamilton where a man was sent off and we missed to one on ones and a penalty cmon tae *.

More on Allan yeah he looked a lot less dynamic tonight although he did have Commons in there who looked poor although he takes his time to get up to speed and then it's unfair to judge Allan when we are down to 10.
